Not that we are unconcerned but this just generate more conflict between two sides as people start to join in without the whole context of the situation.

Being part of scanlation groups sounds wild. There's always something new (usually terrible) going down. From what I've seen on the discords I've visited, and heard from other people, lots of groups have bullying issues and are rife with just awful people.

Sometimes I think to myself that I'd like to join a group and try to help out with the process, but, dang. No thanks. No drama in front of my salad, thank you very much

Thanks for trying... but I'll wait for the usual updates. In case people forgot, the snipers of Duchess with Empty Soul pissed right off after the original translators stopped. That's what you "an update is an update" low-quality lovers wanted and it took ages to get consistent, good quality chapters after that and people are still paranoid as hell. We never want another one.

After reading the reddit post about this, it's just another people on the internet being rude to eachother story... The big problem with the internet is identities are only usernames with no attachment. People think its ok to slander others on the internet but you have to remember theres another person on the other side.

In my opinion the best way to fix these type of problem is separate yourself from the negativity and don't feed the fire.

After reading that reddit post, it's interesting that the person being complained about in that screenshot in this chapter is the new admin they put in after they booted the previous drama-creators. Not that there's anything damning in the SS in this chapter (with no context I'm willing to believe the admin being anti-edgelord tbh, even if they sound a little controlling), but it'd be funny if one corrupt admin was just replaced with another.

Honestly, drama between translation and scan groups is so unsightly.

On one hand, I think it ruins something nice that we all share which is a love for webtoons, mangas, novels... because usually, the people in those groups do like their projects and do them for fun since they're not getting paid or anything. So, it feels tainted somehow when it's so drama ridden

On the other hand, I understand when something you've worked on is stolen or uploaded without proper credit or without your consent or whatever thing that infringes on your rights.

On a completely different note, I don't mind reading scans that some people consider to have lower translation quality than another group's. If the grammar is fine and the meaning is there then it doesn't have to be perfect. I remember a huge drama happening when a chapter of solo leveling was uploaded and the MC's move was translated as "return" as an order to his shadows instead of "exchange" and people lost their effing minds. I read the novel way before and I know that exchange is more appropriate but chill people. Don't bash a group because they didn't use the perfect word to describe something. Not everyone reads the novel, some people stick to the webtoon and a word can have many translations...Sorry for the rant there but drama gets to me. I come to the comment section to see people discussing theories about the chapter but when I see 90% of people shitting on the translation it bothers me.
Not to say I don't mind incomprehensible auto-translation but I always give credit where credit is due.
Well, I don't believe in a perfect world where no drama exists but I've been reading stuff on the internet for over 15 years and it's getting much worse these days.

@Bananimal the duchess of attic release by Puni group is slow because the group has caught up on raw. The release for a manga series is not as frequent as manhwa, they usually only release 1 chapter per month depending on their slots in the magazine. Please don't encourage people to snipe just because you think the release is slow

I think it goes without saying that when any one person, or a small group of people, gain enough "power" or acknowledgement they begin to get a bit full of themselves and their attitudes change. This has been true universally. In essence, both parties are probably terrible. But this callout stuff is just...ugh. Maybe it's my age---yeah it's definitely that. I'm too old for that stuff.

Well, not so old I won't read shoujos though.
