If you want to know the short version of what happens next, be sure to read through the entire spoiler to the end since it is just for this arc.
The monster rush comes at the end of the month and they were able to fight it off. Things get real hectic since Yoshi doesn't have enough points for a miracle. All of a sudden he gets a huge dump of points and to help them, he uses a miracle to reunite some of the villagers who end up having hunters with them.
Once everything settles down, Carol is nowhere to be found and they end up blaming God for her disappearance. Yoshio is freaking out since he doesn't know either because his attention was focused on the fight.
After a miserable, sleepless night, Yoshio drags his feet to answer a very persistent delivery man since no one is home. To his surprise, it's Carol sleeping in a big box. Yoshio goes back to his game to review the previous night while Carol is sleeping on his bed with an empty box nearby.
Turns out while the adults are fighting, Carol finds a big gem in the room she was hiding in and decides to offer it in hopes that god will help them but ends up tripping onto the offering alter and sent to Yoshio, thus the points.
He writes a prophecy stating he took her as a means of protection (cuz god needed another angel hurrdurr) Much drama, misunderstanding eventually cleared. Meanwhile, Carol is played off as a visitor from the village (can't understand/different language so she thinks she's in "gods land" seeing all this new stuff and not understanding) Mother and sister just accept the bogus story like they did about the deliveries Yoshi's been getting, and Carol (who is from hokkaido, where the packages are coming from) becomes part of the family temporarily. Obviously Carol is sleeping in the sisters room (who is now using vacation time) and it ends up being a way for Yoshio and his sister to reconnect. They go out and do stuff.
Yoshi manages to juggle keeping the the game a secret from Carol and spending time with the long lost sister and little foreign girl. While the sister and Carol are out Yoshi is trying to figure out how to get her back in the game.
It ends up that all Yoshi had to do was buy a bus ticket to hokkaido and convince Carol to get on. It's night time, last bus, emotional departing at the bus stop under a single street light, he gives her a small mirror as a gift (just something he had in his pocket) insinuating that god is watching over whoever is in the mirror. She departs and then BAM! she's back in the game, laying on the offering alter with the mirror.
Oh, apparently she left behind the big gem which he auctions off on "e-hay". YAY money and points! End of arc.
By the way, everything above
is just something I thought up in the shower. SEPTEMBER FOOLS!
@wigjump
Take this with a grain of salt. I don't know Japanese.
With my limited Chinese knowledge, I believe the parcel at the end is signed "God of Fate".
The longer explanation is:
命運 means "fate".
の means "'s", like "Elena's report card" or "The teacher's tears", from what I know from my even more limited Japanese knowledge. The more in-depth explanation would be that the noun before の possesses the noun after の.
村 means "village".
Put together, it means "Fate's Village", but that doesn't make sense in context, so it must be "God of Fate".
Not exactly. Just look at the unnatural circular hole in the wall, where they escaped town. Monsters definitely had means to penetrate fortification even without that trick.
@ohyun well, now that's interesting
if that first parcel is actually sent personally from the God of Fate itself, that means the courier surprised expression back from ch. 1 actually carries more meaning to it
imagine his feeling giving what's probably the groups last hope to the hand of some sketchy neet that may/may not kills NPC for fun
That is actually correct 😆
He is going to meet a few other players from both alignments in 2 arcs. ( like around another 40-50 manga chapter depending on how much its dragged out )
The evil players are playing an army builder game and are trying to invade the other god's villages.
The healer, for example, was from another players village, but that village has been burned to the ground by somebody the MC is going to meet later on
for reference, we are almost around halfway into with the first volume at 9.2.
So I'm expecting the manga to be about 20-30 chapters per volume.
Spoilers for the next few arcs.
Volume 1 is about learning the setting and
fixing his relationship with his sister ( who actually likes him for saving her life, but hates what he has become afterwards )
Volume 2 is about preparing for the second Temptation of Evil God ( they are a once a month thing after all ) and we learn more about how the game is played
The MC now has to fights another god in said attack wave unlike the first one that only has a few wild monsters.
And Volume 3 is about him travelling to the location where all the items are coming from
to meet up with the real god of fate while avoiding other gods trying to steal an item that if he loses he loses his right to play the game
There is actually some significance to the package.
The package was indeed sent by the real god of fate.
In volume 3 of the novel, the goal of the arc is to travel to Hokkaido and meet up with the real god of fate.
oh yeah, I know that feeling...
I made an "out of context" spoiler wall of text of a manga a while back, where I made the MC look like a crazy fucking generate who rapes his family by explaining plot points poorly and out of context.
When really he is one of the most lovingly and wholesome people in the story and would rather die before he harms anyone he loves.
@mage_goo
That's such an interesting observation, and I think it definitely has merit.
If you're correct, I think the God of Fate gave our MC the package on purpose, which eliminates the previous theory that it was sent to the wrong person.
1. The God of Fate wouldn't employ someone who's incompetent at their job.
2. The messenger probably double-checked the package's address after seeing our MC.
Which then brings the question: why would the God of Fate give our MC the package when there are other better options, surely?
