It's literally in the god damn name, that's why they're called conservatives... Also the education system sucks because states basically pay out of pocket and are not standardized; It's likely that "your" system sucks ass and not "ours". The over generalization in this statement is painful, it's as if someone isn't sure who or what to be angry at so they just lump them all into one group to mowed down.

The problem is the public school system was set up to produce government subjects, and useful idiots, not to produce a informed and educated population. Just putting money into the system as it's designed results in more tax payer money being laundered through the teacher's union dues and going into the DNC's budget! That's why we fight for voucher programs so we can fund private school systems to get kids out of those new age 'Socialist Brown Coat factories'. 😤

More like critical thinking is not the focus of the system, lot's of resources are thrown into STEM because it has an obvious return on investment for the economy and it pays well enough to draw people in on top of being intrinsically interesting to many people. At best your language arts classes pre college will cover it but it's not until you go into college that you have classes geared towards critical thinking (ie philosophy, etc.) and people will only take it because it's a requirement. And that's where the problem starts, not every can/should get into higher education for one reason or another.
