I would advise against trying to target the livelihoods of people, especially if they were at the protest itself and weren't apart of the people who entered the capitol building.

The people who entered the capitol building are probably going to see jail time, which is punishment itself.

What will be achieved by targeting people's livelihoods besides trying to make it so they are unable to participate in society? And when people are unable to participate in society, they tend to take radical or extreme actions, even more so than they already have.

There's nothing more dangerous than someone who has nothing to lose, and if you keep stripping people of their right to life, liberty and property, they'll only radicalize and escalate.

At this point a non zero number of these people are beyond saving if the latest threats are real, which wouldn't surprise me if they were. A message needs to be sent, one that people cannot ignore, a meaningful consequence... and apparently hitting the wallet is what it takes to make people feel remorse.

They didn't care how their actions affected the country, nor did they stop to think how it affected those around them, but suddenly their livelihoods are under fire and now they start giving a damn?

And as a American citizen that actually heard the speech he gave on the 6th of January I can't for the life of me figure out what part of it could be interpreted as a Dog whistle trigger statement in even the most screwed up Tidepod sucking pea brains of the Jackass Generation_TM!
How can what I heard as a call to gather at the Capital as a show of support for the representatives who were about to stand up, and call to attention the concerns of their constituents on the floor of congress get muddled and interpreted to mean a call to storm the halls , and kick their asses? 😳

Personally I believe it would be best to just boycott the innaugeration, stay home, and avoid the armmed mob events they are trying to gather as a excuse to frame anyone that doesn't back the new government ascent to power as terrorists in need of supression and purge. 😥

You are right that this 'might' help prevent new people from getting radicalized, but this doesn't solve the current radicals and only radicalizes them further. What happens after they feel remorse? Do they get allowed back into proper society? If not, the existing radicals get pushed out of normal society and into a nothing to lose situation. While businesses have every right to toss these people away, what exactly do you think they will do after that? Apologize on social media and go back to living their normal lives?

I think they did it precisely because they cared about how their actions affected the country. Tell me, if you legitimately believed the election was fraudulent, and that the democratic process was being undermined, what is the moral thing to do in that situation? Just accept the fraudulent results? I would say, if that is legitimately what you believed, there is only one moral path forward, and that is to fight as hard as possible for ensuring the results were legitimate. Now, if I am to believe liberal talking points, the type of person to believe election fraud took place, is probably also stupid, and in that case, probably has impaired ability to understand why taking good moral actions would have such severe negative consequences. Alas, here they are learning their lesson that being a hero doesn't warrant a hero's welcome all the time. The fool's journey is a hard one.

Hell, all of this just reminds me of how Paul Miller AKA GypsyCrusader went from libertarian small-time "everyone has a right to participate in democracy" journalist, to alt-right "kill all jews, communists and [gamer word]s" internet meme man in less than a fucking year after getting doxxed and harassed out of his jobs.

But I will say it's unbelievable how effectively the Progressive Movement, and the media have twisted the meaning of words in the english language to fit their narratives.

If they succeeded in this coup then forget about fraudulent elections, the election itself becomes meaningless. Why bother with this charade called democracy if people are going to force their way into power?

All this "what if I believed" hypothetical scenario is moot, It would mean that there is evidence beyond a reasonable doubt and at that point its the job of the Justice Department and any other related entities to step in and handle it and not mob rule. It's not something as grand as "liberal talking point," it's a basic "DO YOU HAVE SOME FUCKING EVIDENCE?" What happen to Innocent until proven guilty?

And since when did the "moral path" include assaulting police officers, stealing, destruction of public property, murder and attempted murder? This whole shit show should have stopped once one of these, minus murder, became apparent but nope this went on for hours before finally ending. They just wanted to "talk" to the politicians, huh.
