@wowfucktron I wasn't expecting him to, as he had somehow religious views. That last part was to showcase the absurdity of complaining about taxes.

@CyanHide Dude, don't preach me. I don't give a shit about moral, religious, philosophical etc sides of this issue.

To be fair the less humans there are; the more resources each human gets. So as humans approach 0; resources per human approach infinity. Mathematically it works out that if everyone dies; everyone gets infinite resources/s

Thought I would circle back around and share some stuff I found out.

Y'all remember those massive electric bills some Texans got? Turns out it was self inflicted, partially anyway. Apparently you can switch your electricity provider (I unironically like that idea), so electric companies will offer alternative plans to people to try and get more customers. One of the types of plans that is popular is called Variable rate, where you pay the market price of electricity. Normally that works out well for people because they can take advantage of basically paying wholesale price.

You can probably see what happened next but I'll still say it. ERCOT underestimated how much electricity was going to be needed, which combined with Southern Texas not being weatherized for winter weather, led to blackouts in some cities. This caused the market price of electricity to increase, which resulted in the massive bills. Whether or not those large bills qualify as price gouging is another issue, one that the Texas DOJ is probably more than willing to entertain, but it seems like this is less of a massive incident of malice and more of a collection of Three Stooges disasters piling up.

Sup bro. What do you think about abortion?

@wowfucktron
Tbh I don't think Halo thought that deeply about the tax numbers comparison to allude to welfare queens. The point of abortion being cheaper was straightforward.

The only thing that doesn't sit completely right with me is the fact that using taxes to pay for abortions can basically be bailing people out of their own bad decisions to a much greater extent than other government handouts. But it's still the more logical option imo.

As for me, I'm pro abortion to the extent that I make obvious references to its financial advantages whenever I encounter pregnant women. I also ask them prying questions about their general finances and mental well-beings in the hopes of guilt-tripping them for attempting to bring children into less-than-desirable environments.

The allusion is common enough in my experience that most people who use that argument only use it to try pulling the rug out from underneath someone in a sort of “look, he’s a boogie man” fashion.

I don’t really give a shit about abortion mainly because it’s a huge fucking minefield in terms of how to approach it.

But I strongly believe that if it is made legal and free in terms of access, then women have to sign up for the draft in order to gain access to it.

Give and take.

I don't really have a horse in this race but since you're asking, are you speaking morally or policy-wise? There is a very big distinction between the two and I want to be razor-sharp between the two since they are two very different beasts.

True, the separation is important. I guess both then.

Morals-wise for me, I don't feel strongly one way or the other (I know, I'm an apathetic monster). I do think that having a cutoff period where abortion is no longer an option could be helpful in preventing some moral grays though.

Abortion in a perfect world should be legal as it's a useful tool to see if society is starting to decay. The more abortions their are, the worse society is. Unfortunately we are long past the point of the people leading the country caring about how well it is doing, because it's extremely easy to replace the population.

That's cool, but what do I get as a male for the privilege of having to register for the Selective Service?

@bigtiddyoneesan Well I guess I'll speak to the moral part first.

I don't really care but Morally I find it acceptable when its needed, ie the husband and wife or whatever combination of the two people there is accept it. I'm also an emotionally stunted asshole in that regard since I can, have and will watch someone die with zero regard for them. That's about it.

The policy is I don't want to pay for someone else's bad decisions, meaning, if there were a bill that was passed where you could opt out of using your taxes for said abortions. Now what I would consider acceptable tax funded abortions would be, a baby from a woman that has a long time of homelessness with zero future for the child, rape, and or abject poverty. I'm not really up and up with the science but id assume there should be a certain point where the child is an actual being, but I'll leave that up to the doctors.

Not being thrown in prison.
The privilege of being a disposable tool for the government during wartime.
Voting rights with strings attached.
Oh and paying 40% more in taxes than the other half of the population.

Actually selective service is tied to your federal financial aid eligibility as well.
