This is the kind of tragic backstory a side character has. They were abandoned in a castle and when the father actually came to pick them up he gave them away to the temple to be used as a weapon against the disease. The child would live their life resenting the emperor and one day come to take revenge. Then the emperor would say he made a mistake trusting the priest and readers would refuse to forgive him since the mc's misfortune can not go away because of just an apology. This is how my friends the story would go had the emperor decided to say yes

The back stories of the other bejewel eyed princess and prince struck me so hard, because if there were people like that irl it wouldnt be hard to believe that they will go through the same thing... Because humans have the capacity be that cruel. And for people saying the prince had it worse I think there is no such thing they were all just as bad but who is to say that the healer who had her eye gouged out didnt have similar things done to her by her kidnappers... the prince couldnt have done any of those and he was framed bc of the bad history the jewelled eyes wielder had because of greedy people in the kingdom/country
i meant to say that it was mentioned he was imprisoned by his father, the emperor, to “keep him safe” from what happens to the jewelled eyes’ end or sumn
im saying that how could their history paint the diamond eyed prince in that light when he was locked up!!

Am i the one who thing those back stories are fake? Think about this! What if the healer with jewel eyes actually have a loving family and somewhat her lover dies and the only thing she can save them is when she gouge her own eyes but the people around mislead othe story cuz centuries has passed by! Thinking that the loving family is the kidnappers and the person revived was due to her normal healing powers and not the eyes. She died cuz of being in captivity even tho she just sacrifice herself for her love one.

Next is the prince! What if he wasn't actually locked up? That he actually had a good life and the crown prince actually love him! But people from the church mislead the information cuz of homosexuality and tarnished the crown prince's reputation!!

The one who keep spread false stories is the church!
