The art and story are VERY confusing.
I dropped it after i reach 3 chapters.

If anyone wants to start reading this, i HIGHLY recommend doing some research on the time period before, at least watching a summary on youtube. The author starts the story after the Yellow Turbant Rebellion and doesn't explain it at any point, he doesn't explaining what was happening at China at that time or how Dong Zhuo took control over the capital too, so if you just start reading it will be really confusing.

You should at least have played Dynasty Warriors so you can get a gist of what's going on.

If you want something more thorough, Yokoyama Mitsuteru's "Sangokushi" is also good.

Currently 17 chapters in and it's actually quite good, now I'm getting rather worried as that eunuch has been almost... let's say assaulted numerous times, and I'm worried about how far this story takes things (I'm Scarred by SBR man, I don't want to see that stuff). Otherwise though, it is fascinating! I've always wanted to read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and while this isn't it, I'm getting closer!

- The later 3 kingdom king:
Shu: Liu Bei, Wei: Cao Cao, Wu: Sun Quan
- The top strategist:
Shu: Zhuge Liang, Wei: Sima Yi, Wu:
- Notable character before 3 kingdom (that started it all):
the antagonist: Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu
the allied force leader: Yuan Shao
the yellow turban leader: Zhang Jiao (Zhang Jue).

@kohelemon Damn, that sucks. It was incredibly hard to get into for me as well but it's so rewarding after you get used to it (took me around 70 chapters) The author assumes you have atleast decent info about the three kingdoms period

I tried, to me though, and it may be a bad thing but when reading I expect some instant gratification (Something really gripping more so). There were some good facets in this series, but the ones I like were buried under mounds of others I cared little for. And while I am lightly fascinated in the period, the period itself wasn't the problem.
The true shame for me is, is that the art is really beautiful. Art is 1/3rd of what sells me on a manga. Believe it or not, I've dipped out on mangas and avoided others because their artstyle was not to my taste. this series was right up my alley in art, kinda interesting. But, for as interesting as it was... I guess it's just too darn large, and while that can be a good thing, it's size in majority is thanks to facets I find absolutely uninteresting.
IDK, though, give me like 3 years and in a bored stupor I'll zoom through it and call it a masterpiece; there's a reason why I put this in the dropped section of my library: So i can find it again when I'm ready.

This is my favourite manga of all time and it has usurped One Piece for me. Prior to reading this, I loved war manga like Kingdom and was chasing for stories similar to it. This lead me to Bokko and Lord (Cho Sangokushi) but I kept on hearing about ravages of time. I knew nothing about the three kingdoms period but still tried to read blind, I almost dropped the series at the first chapter because it seemed like it had supernatural elements but I gave it another try. I’ve been hooked ever since. From Xiapi, to Guandu, to Red Cliffs, following the stories of Sima Yi, Zhao Huo, Lu Bu, Liu Bei and Cao Cao and watching the meticulous planning of eight geniuses come off it is a treat. The only shame is not too many people are aware of this manga so the English speaking fan base is too small causing a lack of fan created media and commentary on the story. I’d love to fill that gap but I’m a bit of a brainlet.
