Regardless of having 0 cost or not, People dont need to spend their time for your free entertainment. money is a motivator to keep them spending their free time on you.

My point was not really on how much anyone charges for what amount of work, it's on managing expectations. If you promise something, then deliver, otherwise people will feel betrayed specially when there's money involved. Yoshi usually gives advance notice when things would slow down. If the sponsors are okay with the changes then who cares if you charge more? At some point sponsors would abandon you when they think you're out of line. Yoshi includes the sponsor's handles in under the chapter. Publish where which chapter their money goes and I think you can structure yourselves freely however you want to.

Why buy the chapters when you're not going to release them before it becomes free?
Like if waste management releases the chapters before trash scans can without buying, whats stopping trash from doing the same? Theres no need for them to even buy the chapters and hold on to it. Its just quite a dumb way of doing things imo.

Firts of all, this problem won't be happened if the snipper contact the translator fist before doing this stupid things.
He can ask about free released raw, why there many free raw and not translated, and still ask for patronage.
If he really watch disxord, he should know exceeding funds goes to buy more raw, and he can help to translate it to increase realese pace, but he didnt doing it, and goes to snipping.

Simple. It's to support the author. This was already mentioned the chapter discussions. There are even groups who forward half of their proceeds to the authors themselves.

well the snipper thing happens sometime but not on this degree saying theyre just taking our many and all
i know the raws get free after sometime which is as far as i know 3 days or one week after the raw got released where you have to pay before you can read or grap and translate it thats basicly for all mangas manwhas and manhuas the case maybe some webtoon is free or a graphic novel like fisheye placebo
also a website costs money too well the servers and domain costs money and they have ads and all but theyre minor ads not like kissmanga shit with pop ups and all
oh and not any translator works for free actuelly not many
so after a ligical analyse its actuelly quite understandable why they ask for money

@kuyukotto Their is a comment section attached to every patreon monthly poll for donators to voice their opinions. And I am litterly taking to people 24/7 on discord/email. I dont see when people dont have time to adress issues directly.

@IBRA What worse is we don't use paywalls like a lot of groups does... We don't put a gun to their heads asking for more money to get the chapter faster. If we wanted to make more money as our goal from day 1 we would of chosen to use paywalls and early access. Why are these guys not targeting a group without steady releases/use paywalls for most of their series?

They dont really care about this whole thing anyway.. if they did, they would target groups like WCP too but i never saw them there tbh. People aren't forced to pay for the chapters over here. If people want to give money to scan groups then why the fuck not.... If they in turn get the right to vote for the project they would love to see more then where is the problem? Afaik this doesn't mean that other projects will get axed completely because of votes.
Novel translations where tl gets money and releases after target is reached actually don't have any hate towards tl in comments because they're god damn thankful that someone is doing it and they gladly give tl money to release it. (not saying you guys should) Twitch streamers are literally using someones things (games, songs, videos, whatever) and no one gives a shit as long as the content is good.
And yet when Scan groups do it, it's the work of the devil as if scanlators have nothing else to deal with. This is not a job guys it's a hobby and when people want to give you money for your time used to translate and edit those chapters, you will sure as hell not say ''No thanks i don't need your dirty money.''
As Scanlators we are always thankful that people give money to us cause that, apart from the seeing the joy of people reading chapters, is a huge motivation.
The biggest problem about this whole thing is that there are people giving you trouble instead of helping to get it out faster.

i hate to see some snipers just ruined some work of dedicated scanslators... its not like they(the snipers) will continue scanslating this webtoon if, for example, trashscan decide "screw it, im done..."

The trashscans message at the beginning of chapter 26 is written in broken english. There's nothing i can confirm from either group but as a consumer of a free product I'll say this much for sure;

the no-group releasing the TL'd chapters aren't asking for monetary compensation or even giving their names. It's purely for providing a free service without even asking for donations or prestige to their name.
It also doesn't help that trash throw out a wall of text degrading these people for their choice. if trash really had nothing to hide they wouldn't have taken such a hostile stance.

@Cae Being angry is a stance? I thought it was an emotion. Everyone has a viewpoint on money that's personal. Snipping is public. They have decided to accuse us in a public setting and we have a right to defend ourselves publically shaming snippers does nothing their moral less people. Im just doing what gives me a chance to clear the air to those who dont read the comment sections. You dident seem to mind when they used our format to bash us. What's there to hide... Most groups hide everything about their finances including how much their earning on patreon. I dont see many groups like trash who publically list their patreon or talk about what our goals of spending our money are as strongly.

Same drama as what happened for Parallel Paradise.
It's good to see more chapters, but not if the project is still ongoing with a active translation team..move like that can make osmeone drop a serie for good, then no one is willing to pick it up again for a long time.

@transcanlations Yes being angry can be a stance. As i don't know the full circumstances behind either you or the other group I will try not to make baseless claims one way or the other. A person once told me that the only thing we can control in life is how we react to others, I think the claims made by the other group are a little outrageous after reading chap. 26 opening made by you. But at the same time I do think you overreacted a little, like I said I don't know what is going on behind the scenes on either end so take what i said with a grain of salt.

I've seen so many translators start out motivated and then crash in the middle with excuses like
school, life and whatever else(didn't wanna offend translators tho, you cool).
if they think they so hot they should maintain the release like this while fending off venomous readers.
