Is Cruz a boy or girl?!

First part of a sentence it' "he", and then it's "her". 🙄

I see you still can't make up your mind about how to address Cruz

@jazz9 I usually have problems because in Spanish they don't specify it either and when translating I get confused and forget to leave it as "she" and not as "he".

Sorry for those mistakes, I'll fix it right away.

Did they not kill it before it was able to expel it's poison?

This mangaka has obviously never been hunting before. A rabbit would never venture anywhere near a predator, regardless of whether it was living or not.
That rodent just hopping right up to the Hydra's mouth to drink the puddle of poisoned mana is beyond stupid.

@vodspod:
I think the meat itself is not poisonous - just like poisonous snakes also have no poison in their own meat.
So I assume some of the poison that was spit out of its mouth dripped onto a part of the hydra's body and then soaked into the meat there.
Cruz by chance took some meat from that place.
Maybe it was the place where they cut the hydra which allowed the poison to enter the meat instead of staying on the outside of the scales.

That is my guess.

About how Cruz is addressed as male or female sometimes...
Japanese does not have gender-based pronouns as far as I know, and Cruz looks and apparently speaks really tomboyish, so it makes sense for people to confuse the ones to use when translating. In fact, I remember being confused when she was refered as a she the first time, until it was explicitly said that she is a girl.

So, about the chapter...
While the rabit and Cruz seem to show it is poisonous, the wolves ate it too... While it was said Femme was ok for being a wolf, that still seems weird.
And if I recall right, t was mentioned hydras were not supposed to go there...
Was it a curse on it and it is spreading?
