I like that the story doesn't just brush the duke's bad parenting aside as "misunderstood dad" trope and the demon properly chews him out for it (seems like he slightly remembers it even after he snaps out of it, that's why he fled his own office, I think?).

Thank you for the translation!

The manner in which you raise your child, your child will determine you child's behavior and mindset in the future. That's literally it guys. Raise your child with love and care with equal discipline, and you'll get yourself a good, reliable child. Neglect your child and ignore their existence by NOT EVEN F****ING LOOKING AT THEM, will get you a disobedient, attention seeking, lonely child that will not have a proper understanding of how to love or receive love.
Ya basically f****ed up your child's future with you sh** parenting.

"I wanted to let her do whatever she wanted to do" BISH MISS ME WITH THAT BULLSHIT.

i don't even understand the author's rationale in the duke's rationale. or, i guess the logic behind it. it's as if the author forgot that the duke is a Grown-Ass Man who should know that parenting takes more than blind "indulgence" and requires ACTUAL INTERACTION WITH THE CHILD??? even if one believes they are spoiling their child, how can one be so confident that the child is happy WHEN YOU DON'T SPEAK TO THE CHILD?? THAT'S JUST? COMMON SENSE?????? mf hasn't had one genuine conversation with his daughter what the fuck it's baffling to me that the author really expects me to believe that this man is a competent duke who (seems to) hold no genuine disdain for his daughter and just. never even bothered to properly talk to his daughter. just. A SINGLE SINCERE CONVERSATION.

as MC said: she, the original host, the servants of the house, and the entire nobility presumed the duke did not give a shit about the daughter because anyone with brains could see his attitude was one of indifference and neglect. he claims he indulged her, but has never asked her what she wants. he claims to care for her, but left her alone. that's not "care" or "love" or "affection", that's an attitude of "i don't want to bother with you, so do whatever you want and don't bother me".

i may be overreacting right now, but i'm incensed that the author wants to just brush this over. dude needs a HARD slap in the face as a wake up call that his behavior is horrible, illogical, and poorly justified like at the very least let the MC give the duke the cold shoulder like CMON MAN NEEDS TO REPENT 🤚 s'okay okay, i'm fine, i'm cool, it's whatever

thank you for the update nonetheless 😷

I can’t really hate the father? I mean, how he raised her was really bad, and I don’t condone it. That’s emotional neglect. However, I can somewhat see from his perspective? I mean, he’s a single father with an estate to run. He has a lot of work. He experience the burden of his status. So, wanting his daughter to be ‘free’ is very understandable. He just doesn’t know. Remember, not all nobles are brought up as love children. Sometimes, these children are a result of arrange marriages. He may have experienced things differently and got brought up with ‘hard love’ instead.

Once again, I do not condone emotionally neglecting a child. And I hope he and his daughter verbally communicate. He’s not a bad father. His intent is good; however, the way he executes them is bad.

The demon sure does like puppeteering the MC.
I am noticing in a lot of these manwahs the ML is often either manipulative, and/or creepy but is excused.
