>Have you seen any evidence that she does not like random dude?
The rando doing the confession is literally nothing more than a plot device that connects with Taira's dream at the beginning of the chapter. You are free to believe otherwise, but that's just what it is.

>And it seems heaps of reviews on Amazon etc. state the same, calling the development and dynamics quote;"uncomfortable".
Care to point me towards said reviews? Because I'm seeing no such thing: https://www.amazon.co.jp/product-reviews/4758083622

@Raskaro FMC getting asked out, accepting/denying is not the problem here. I'm not considering anyone's comments. The "visible" embarrassment/signs are clearly not visible to the MC. She gets embarrassed on her own and rarely holds an actual conversation with him which is fine because she is EMBARRASSED but expecting the MC to make a move is absurd.
What happens after he realises his feelings? Does he confess? It would be weird imo because (again) she rarely holds an actual conversation with him. Should he try to get closer to her? He's been trying to do that from the start but she indirectly shuts him down everytime because she is EMBARRASSED which is (again) fine but (again) what is the MC supposed to do in this situation? To the MC, she has gotten comfortable with most people (not the problem) but after the first very few chapters, nothing has changed between them. You can get close to someone and have some ACTUAL conversations and then realise your feelings for them. But if you realise your feelings for someone who does the aforementioned things, it's unnatural to act on those feelings.
It's clear that she's going to reject the other dude whichever way she does. I doubt it would be a simple rejection though, she would probably say she likes someone but how is the MC supposed to realise that it's him she's talking about when she isn't actually close to him? Being friendly with other people is not a problem but she's clearly more friendly with everyone other than the MC. He would obviously think it's someone else.
This "rant" was mostly because the starting chapters hinted towards something else. It would have been a better story if she got closer to everyone while simultaneously getting atleast a little bit closer to the MC as well and he gradually realises his feelings for her as he spends time with her. But they're not spending time together (not close to the time she spends with everyone else). Again, her spending time with other people is not the problem but expecting the MC to act on his feelings in these circumstances is absurd imo. Has she acted on her feelings in front of the MC? NO. Has she tried to get closer to him? NO. Has he tried to get closer to her? YES (only as a friend which is actually how relationships are supposed to progress but still YES). The MC has not done anything dense here. Maybe he will try to get closer to her after he realises his feelings but he has already tried that. Maybe he will be more aggressive but it would be weird if she says she likes someone else because almost everyone else is closer to her than he is.
Sorry for the rant and repeating points. Have a good day.

Do people here really expect her to say yes? 99% that won't happen tho.

Maybe this'll push him to realize his feelings and finally confess?

Well can't wait for the next chapter!

Looks like someone has the courage to ask her out. This is high school, multiple people can like one person(hell, that happens quite a lot even after). If they think they have a shot then they should take it. Pretty sure that MC will realize that time waits for no one and will take his shot as well.

@Daksh23 absolutely agree, no need to be sorry for anything, lol. This discussion is only happening because so many people are mad with the direction the manga is taking. IMO, people still saying she tries hard to further her relationship with MC are just not looking into this deep enough/from an unbiased (towards the female main character) perspective. It's not always the dense MC.

Some readers keep refering to older chapters but she literally did nothing special. "but she made him food" -well some other dude wanted to eat it and she said yes instantly without thinking twice. MC just CANT think anything special there. After that she kept said dudes jacket on a whole day while embracing it while thinking about MC for 1 second that chapter to bait fluff. What else did she do? Apart from the 1sentence "conversations" she has almost always kept him out of the loop even blocking him from conversations completely, multiple times. He clearly is shown feeling bad about their relationship status being >strangers with same friends<. Furi is seemingly more than content with that.

And to everyone saying "Now he finally realizes and will do shit" That is easy entertainment and unfulfilling writing for no brainer romances. This WAS so much more. Thats a stupid cliché used to easy progress a story. The progress was more than fine without that whole shit going on the past 10 chapters. MC doesnt need to be a punching bag.

I caught up with all the chapters in 1 fucking day
Fuck!
Well, MC probably chickened out and ran away instead of hearing fmc firmly reject that guy in the next chapter
Is he some random guy thou? Or is he Sawamura?

>Sawamura was the other guy that went to the concert with them.
No, he's not. That's Nakatomo, Taira's friend from another class.

@Graywing She could ask him out you know. This doesn't go just one way. Seems a bit unfair to expect Taira to pick up her slack.

@Daksh23 Not a bad analysis

Must be my poor eyesight (or the authors inability to make distinguishable characters). If that's the case, and it is Sawamura, then there's even more of a compelling reason to think that she would accept the confession since she seems to be closer to him that Taira.

True, but then it would be a completely different story.
