Hey everyone, I am the TL of this series. My apologies for the mistake in the previous chapter - Mikura is actually their last name, not the sister's first name. It was a bit confusing because both the mom and the neighbors call the sister 'onee-chan.' I've since fixed this. Now, at school, due to formalities, everyone calls Yuki by her last name - Mikura.

The train station is in ruin, but so far only that is shown to be like that. The kid that tried walked in front of the train from the first chapter? There was no train. They just walk, thats why he didnt get hit. Probably his whole team got eaten and he was spared cause he didn't want to leave the town for whatever reason.

Mentaiko is a type of fish right? I know butter is expensive and while i don't eat fish, i'd think even if it's not as luxurious as like caviar, that kinda specific butter seems like it'd be pricey

Yeah makes everyone else acting 'normal' a bit creepy as opposed to them being all 'smiley' and just suddenly changing mood like "Don't question X" or whatever but that ending with someone else having a similar head to her sister is quite something lol

mentaiko is actually pollack roe (fish eggs) and isn’t expensive as caviar. It’s actually significantly cheaper, more like 10-11 bucks and pretty accessible. If the author is referencing the mentaiko butter im thinking of, then it’s a squeeze tube that costs like 3 bucks
