It always amuses me when a character is portraited as someone incapable of dealing with home appliances and technology in general, mainly when the story takes place in a modern era.

I mean, nowadays stuff is so self explanatory and easy to use that seeing a adolescent incapable of using the internet to learn how to do basic stuff, like cooking for example, seems a pretty lazy behaviour for me. Although, if I use as reference all the kids and adolescents in my neighbour, it's not exactly far from the truth sadly...

Also, Yui has all that high end appliances and dishware available and yet not being used to their full potential hurts me a lot. Make your future husbando use it, girl. :worry:

In this instance, at least, it kinda makes sense. She grew up the semi-neglected daughter of an aristocratic house with servants; she likely would have been prevented from even attempting to learn how to do those things.

Meta-wise, though, it's just the author's way of justifying them eating dinner together for more fluffy moments, kinda like Angel Next Door's MMC, who also can't cook and so gets the cute girl next door to make dinner for him.

Ah yes, it's at least a somewhat valid reason and I can sympathize with Yui's circunstances. But sending someone oversas, alone, without any kind of know-how or basic survival skills, will always be a bizarre situation for me.

But yeah, at this point it's just nitpick from my part. It's just fiction in the end and I'm only here for the fluff. :worry:

Yui had a pretty lonely past. She's so dependent on her old household, but when she made a mistake, she was thrown out. The only person who cared for her, her half-sister, sent her to Japan under the pretext of studying abroad.

But she still has issues. She's never been independent, so being alone in what's basically a new place is so overwhelming. She has no contact with people, and she definitely didn't have any idea who could help her.

That's why Naomi coming to help her was such a big deal. Because he's someone who's recognized her as somebody, when before nobody really cared about her. And he's willing to do so much so she can smile. That's so cute.

Now that they're eating together, they'll be so cute. It's the first step to an amazing friendship, I think. They're pooling together funds for ingredients, spending time with each other to make meals to eat, and talking with each other as they eat. That's pretty close to what being married is like! Ironically, by teaching Yuu how to be independent, they'll start to become very dependent on each other!

It looks like Yui's sister is still worried though. I'm sure she'll be ok with Naomi though, he's a very responsible and trustworthy person!

Page 20 has "was taken in by the head house in". Should it be "was taken in by the head house", or "was taken in by the head house in (location)?" I feel it's missing something.

This is quite possibly the most generic romance manga i've ever seen. Can anyone identify anything special about it?
I think it's pretty unique that their school is Catholic, not really seen in manga and hope that plays some effect on the story (coping hard there I know).
It's unique because they're Catholic, yes. They already had the whole church setting elaborated on.

Agreeing with this here. I mentally filled "in England" in my brain and then moved on, but it is odd just on its own.

Yup you're right thanks for pointing it out
btw it supposed to be "was taken in by the head house in England? "

It should be fixed by now

What is confusing for me is she bought 1000s of dollars worth of top of line kitchen equipment but can't afford basic food. Yeah this day and age it's weird not being able to cook but I think it's more to do with the trend in manga how it's cute if girls are incapable of cooking and anything they try is taste messed up or looks like charcoal

I know manga and anime love to do this either that or have the parent not be around. I think many mangaka struggle to write parents into a story unless they are killed off in ch1
