@Meybi I don't know what you expect from a normal person? His reaction is pretty normal, you know those who can take up weapons and kill as soon as they get to another world from a relatively peaceful world like ours (and especially Japan) are the weird ones.

Also if you hate this type of MC, feel free to read other OP main manga/manhua/manhwa, don't be like lolmaolol who spends his precious time commenting in EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER about how weak the MC is :3

@Meybi Ok, so tell me how do you want his character to be written though? Because the direction of this manga/novel is actually pretty clear from the start which is a weak-willed character "conquering" others via his food (or the food he buys). So far MC sticks to that pretty well, and if the character writing is that terrible, what do you read this for?

@Liquidxlax Anko doesn't really have a great parallel in western sweets. It's more of an earthy, mellow sweetness wheras sugar is what I would describe as a sharpter/brighter sweetness. I guess a sweet potato might be close in terms of the level of sweetness?

Personally I like anko a lot, but I also grew up on it. I remember it was a little hard to appreciate at first after mostly eating western style sweets.

Am I missing something or wasn't going on dangerous quests and being used by countries "in times of emergency" the exact thing the MC was trying to avoid. I mean realize that to keep the plot interesting he is inevitably going to have to be embroiled in both, but I'm a little confused about why he didn't at least think about booking it again when his cover was blown.

@Nod From the look of it, he actually wasn't going to take the high-ranked quests (he declined at first and was visibly pale at the aspect of facing those monsters), but the delicious beef from the bull monster hooks him in and the fact he knew Fenrir could easily take care of all those monsters kinda convinced him in the end?

I agree the "request your help in times of emergency" can be his downfall in the future, but I suppose he was a bit too focused on the fact the nobles would not bother him again to look into that part? I guess we would have to wait and see how this condition affecting MC in the future

Dang, people angry at the MC, and other people angry about people being angry. Can't we just get along 😂 I do agree that this deal with the country sounds one sided, and I thought his original goal was to not be involved. A promise of not being messed with isnt exactly a reward, it's an absence of a negative. but the deal with the guild is better. Jumping ahead in rank is convenient and he's going to get the original reward for the quests anyway.

I hope that this becomes an anime and use real Japanese products for promotional purposes. "It's thanks to this XXXX brand of salad dressing from XXXX foods inc! Delicious!"

Mukouda suddenly being proactive with requests, well... He is now an adventurer after all, he has responsibilities to answer to the guild because he reaps the benefits of being a member too (dismantling, selling of loot, etc) And unlike when he was running away from the first kingdom, he is not alone anymore and his companions are more than eager to protect him (food source). If anything seems fishy, Fer is a wise beast, Mukouda can have a conversation with him and ask for his opinion, he will need his approval too.

Even if he doesn't accept the guild requests, Fer will go out to slaughter that lizard and those bloody hornbull for game regardless, so why not just accept the request, make it official and get both meat AND guild reward + promotion at the same time? Not accepting it after Fer expressed his interest will be a loss, the guild will still have the job done for less pay.

The country using Mukouda? When Fer can destroy a country overnight? If they have brains they wouldn't dare. 😱

I don't understand why guys like you want to feel superior by calling other men beta. What is wrong with being beta? I personally avoid alpha males, stupid, arrogant and don't know how to respect others.

@Meybi What part of his character is bad writing? This is the most accurate and realistic isekai MC I have ever seen. Other MCs just instantly got used to the world and go on an adventure, killing monsters , etc. A real-life person won't act like that unless they are a chuni or something. A normal person will concern for their own safety first, want to live a peaceful life or want to go back to their world. If I got isekai, I would act the same as him, avoid conflict and dangerous missions while try to make some money safely. He is just a normal salaryman who lived in a peaceful area so the way he acts is understandable.

Just drop this manga if you hate him and spare us the complaining because things won't change.
