The real question is Eiri going to take the seed, For Science! Or is she going to be too scared to accept it. I mean, taking the seed isn't automatically a deal with the devil. None of authorities understand the nature of the danger. So having an actual sample would be great for study. Or if this is normal SciFi, I just doomed humanity.


In other news, I really enjoyed page 18. Panel 2, you finally have Eiri act like an actual teenager/child and do a pose, and panel 3, fully realize how cringe it is to have done any of that. And now I'm shocked MD doesn't have any Aru Beam smilies.

Please don't randomly colourise things. Art made to work in b&w takes serious work to switch to full colour, usually beyond what a fan colourisation can/will do. I'd rather just see the original.

However in this case we just liked the art so much we wanted to use it in the chapter. We do usually have them after the chapter.

While I do agree that the colored panel does look beautiful, I also think that the artwork should be kept as closed to the original as possible. My suggestion is to do it in the same way Inked Scans did it with Kesa mo Yuraretemasu (They are Still Being Shaken This Morning), as in add it at the end.

Thank you for your opinion, everyone is entitled to one. It wasn't a coloured page just thrown together in 5 minutes, a lot of time was taken in making it (there's also a time-lapse video on our server showing the process if you're interested, which I highly doubt). It was my call to put in in place of the original and I'm sticking by it on this occasion (In all of our other series, the entire page is coloured and put at the end). Probably the only panel which would have looked good in colour this chapter was the one we picked, and if we posted the whole page at the end with just 1 coloured panel - that would have looked weird. If we cut and just posted the colour panel - that would have looked weird. A lot of thought went into it, again, it's not like it was just thrown together without a second thought.
If you're desperate to see the original then by all means, the link to the raws is in the series details or I can certainly send you a copy in DM's.

I've obviously already seen the raws, I checked them before the option of making a post even occurred to me. The "randomly" was not referring to panel choice, I actually considered mentioning that a panel like that seems like close to a best case scenario for colourising to me and that it was decently done. It was instead referring to, you know, doing it at all when this isn't a fan colour version.

I've always gotten the impression that people generally like/prefer coloured versions, but I don't. Colouring B&W art is not an automatic improvement (imo it very rarely is one at all) and colourised B&W art is not the same as art made for full colour. Not to say that you think that, but, well, you did still decide to replace B&W art with colourised art. If I'm wrong and you get complaints like this often enough then that's my bad and making a post was pointless.

Short answer: I expect a translation to give me access to a work I wouldn’t otherwise be able to read because of the language barrier ; like @Absum, I do not find it acceptable to modify the art because you felt like it. Otherwise, the clowns at UToons who erase cleavage everywhere because they feel it makes things better do nothing wrong, amaright? Or it would be OK to add backgrounds where there aren’t any because, hey, a lot of work went into drawing them?!

You can EXPECT all you like. But when it comes to something that people are doing FOR YOU, FOR FREE if we want to try something a little different, so long as it's not to the detriment to the chapter/series, then it's going to happen.
Comparing a coloured version of the same panel to someone erasing cleavage or adding whole backgrounds is pretty asinine.
HOWEVER... as with your friend Absum, we always appreciate feedback and have taken it on board.
