Father not looking after own family/children because his loved one/wife died trope....while yeah it really does put some depth to the characters but man, that trope feels really overused to me now.

Whatever the case, let's just hope father realises her daughter's value sooner than later

Thanks for the chapter.

I guess it's fair for the prodigy to just start going off the rails if her surviving parent stopped giving a shit about her

Though I've seen manga usually be incredibly lenient to shit dads, so he'll be immediately forgiven when he finally starts doing what he always should have.

Even if he hideously self-destructs, Kinoko can probably still save his ass.

I predict either father will use the seed or daughter will and that MC will have to save the day from them or something
hence forcing them to reconcile or so that's how it USUALLY goes :aquadrink:

"If I can just do this impossible thing, Dad will go back to how he used to be..."
No, he won't. Even if you can break him free of where he is, people don't go back completely. They can't. Their world isn't what it was.
Aim for marginal improvement, not a "cure"

What you don't understand is that they're both broken people.

Thank you for the chapter, @inkindoug. Man, the mood whiplash this series can go through is sneaky.

Killing strangers for world peace means peace for this world from external threats, right?
I really don't think the other problems are gone through. Like famine and conflicts. Doesn't look like anyone else eats the strangers or uses their remains in any way. It would be weird if they suddenly reveal an industry fuelled by monster remains.
Yeah it's been 10 years, half of human population was wiped out and travel seems to be easier at least for the high-rankers and officials but I doubt all the countries are that united. Or maybe they really are? It's possible.

Also don't take your kid to the battlefield with no armour. Don't tell me those cat ear beanies have better defence...

Please don't be an enemy please let Kino be nice to you

Why do I get the hounding feeling that, the closer we are to the endgame, at some point the major arc's ending will involve Kino finally looking at the leaderboard through her own command and finally registering her place in the world, making her a target for the final showdowns with the Super Big Bad™ assisted by the other rankers via her Bonds™ and Power of Friendship™ cultivated in previous arcs
