Tropes you can’t stand in certain genres

In a world of magic you would not need something like that, you would hire mages who could use magic to help on the ship and keep it safe, guide you back or light your path.

In this economy?! Do you know how much money wizards charge by the hour, let alone the several months for an entire voyage?

Besides, another wizard has probably whipped up some teleportation circle that brings your goods instantly to a market the next continent over for a small fee, indirectly causing all other forms of travel (alongside any jobs revolving around moving goods around) to go near-obsolete.

I would honestly be super interested in a story about an Industrial Revolution but with magic.

Those fantasy settings where genders roles are reversed.
They always start with portraying women strong and independent, who like men that act in a delicate way. But at some point they ended being saved by the MC, who is nothing like that, and end up acting as damsel in distress.

Always thought how most manga writers have no idea how to write a descent woman character.

Slice-of-life, where getting wet from rain = certain death, and the only cure is to get wet a second time in the controlled environment of a bath tub.

Any genre, but Fantasy is the worst, when they introduce a new character that's so damn ugly (and/or a priest or noble) that you know 100% they're going to be evil, but they still act as if it's supposed to be a surprise.

Isekai for the sake of isekai, where it really should be just plain fantasy, and the MC being reincarnated becomes completely irrelevant after chapter 2.

The Knight or Samurai being honorbound idiot that doesn't know how to fight aside from fair, open-field combat. Even worse if said warrior is supposed to be experienced veteran.

Even worse if they suffer from Worf Effect.

Brain dead side characters in survival genre. Yes I know you need a way to make the main character look good, but dumbing everyone else down is not the way to go.
I had read a survival anime where girls practically categories as tools - jugs, hands, thighs, blower, and nightly. Yes those are the parts each use to blow the load.

Harem/Reverse Harem, all genres. Such a narcissistic and/or puerile trope that I just can't. Hard pass for me.
