I'm not that fond of typical rpg game things (level, skill panel, etc) infused in isekai since most of the time it's not really that much involved in a story other than to show how OP the MC is with myriad of bs cheat skills.
But this is what I like of this series, the battle is really enjoyable since at least it's incorporated those skills with their strategies. The appearance of a PVP build enemy also make things more interesting, and it's not a simple mindless beatdown of MC OP skills.

Damn thanks for the 4chapter tasting.

Pvp build vs 4 man raid team, of course the raid team would be waiting for hidden tactics like a poison build.
i get the feel
if i had to come up with a defense its that...
the arrow was an arrow with magic sealed inside
and besides Celt(?)
was a support class who probably sealed her spell inside that arrow

so it came down to versatility of gear present
do i know for certain? no, no not really

The one thing I hate is that he stops to monologue after being stabbed, instead of swinging his ALREADY RAISED sword at the guy who's busy driving a sword through his chest. Like you have the perfect chance to take him down with you, but instead you go "But how? I'm supposed to be OP tho? U scrubs shouldn't have been able to beat my meta PVP build!"

Life ain't a game, you don't despawn/ragdoll as soon as you take a fatal hit. You can still fcking finish swinging a sword. People have been known to continue fighting for a few minutes while impaled by multiple spears - that's an extreme case, I know, but someone whose fighting style relies on being in constant pain should be used to pain enough that they don't freeze up as soon as they're stabbed.
PVP fights where customizable builds define the meta typically become a game of rock, paper, scissors. Gamers will always strive to break that balance, so it's upto the developers to keep it interesting without allowing any one build to run too rampant without a suitable counter.

As for the hesitation from receiving a fatal blow, it could happen for any number of reasons. Sure his build is based on pain, but it could easily be the mental shock of taking such an obviously fatal attack that froze him in place. That's not to say you're wrong, it's just that while your statement is valid, the reverse can just as easily be true.

God that fight was so hyped & my anxiety was rising. I absolutely love the team coordination between them & although I did have suspend my disbelief on how Elma was able to plan in advance a counter to such an obscure build. It makes sense that the title Kalos had gave it away but at the same time Elma has been thinking about the possibility of another player character being involved in this world. One more thing to note: I feel bad for Hilde because she won't believe her mentor was evil & I wouldn't blame her for accusing Elma for murdering him. Thanks for the translations.
The poison zombie magic swordsman build is the meta pvp build for the class, so it's makes sense Elma who seems to know the history and progression of most builds in the mmorpg game.

I didn't care for this fight. It just felt weightless to me. Even with splash pages and fonts trying to underline how tough his type is to beat, it fails to convey any sense of danger, and centered around a completely uninteresting opponent.
All the talk about tactics seems kinda misplaced here too... Sure, it would be a shock in some other series but here it's just preaching to the choir, one where MC is CONSTANTLY thinking about tactics and how to handle the skill tree and exploiting enemy attack patterns. It feels like misplaced poorly handled attempt at wider meta commentary.

Still thanks for the chapters.

Shout out to the translator for banking chapters so we could read the whole fight in one sitting.

I truly can't wait to see this animated for a season finale.
Yupper, one of my biggest gripes with these short form chapters is that it's nearly impossible to hold an informative conversation, or an epic fight scene. So I can only applaud a group taking the initiative to bulk release chapters when a dight like this occurs.

Cheers for the translations and all your hard work!

This feels more like a limitation of the format then a failure of the author/mangaka. I won't say it couldn't have been better. Only that they did an ok job with the space alloted by the publishers. Epic fights need space to really come into their own. This shitty short form content just stifles the flow and makes it feel less alive.

What I fight. With this mass released, I didn't had to suffered cliffhanger.

Now, if I really think about it, Elma and Luce's build was probably PVE-oriented. So, it's kinda amazing for them to hold out against the PVP-oriented build.

Ok you know what, I should've expected that. A massive buff triggered by poison? Just stop the poison lmao. This fight was hype af and I'm in love with this party dynamic.
That's what I thought. That's why Maybell is the key player here. Elma and Luce open a way by distracting Kalos, while Maybell and Celt hit the fatal blow.

I think this build is something like a hidden build just like how Elma choose Heavy Knight because he understand how this tanky Heavy Knight, but also capable dealing a lot damage.

That would be cool and I suspect he'll do something after this, but keep in mind that he was knocked off balance with the parry Elma did in the previous page. He was in no control of that sword weight at that point.

Man, even without using actual aggro/enmity generating skills, this guy still went after Elma mainly.

Maybe his talking or strategizing works as a taunt.

With the way the guy was able to pull that build, I wonder if that other person he's referring to is another isekai'd person like Elma?

It's kinda lame how it's first portrayed as a surprise that broke his mindset about that world but then it turns out he actually totally guessed it could happen and had planned for it.
