Holy shit I had no idea this was the 6th lowest rated manga on this site. Like, yeah, the story wasn't the best, but there are so many worse stories available to read here that's actually insane. Thanks for the work translating this though!

I’ve been silently following this because the premise on paper makes it interesting but oh boy the execution is terrible. The most I could ever see anyone rate this is a 4 but I don’t believe this is a 1 when you compare it to the likes of Gal Cleaning (please don’t read it). I’ll probably not read the web novel since there are other more interesting stories to read. Thanks everyone at Haikai scans for translating this to the end.

I agree with everything you said except that I rated it a 6 to spite the vote-bombing campaign. Good premise but terrible execution.

The story should have centered around Athena and her regret for crushing the guy she had at least some feelings for. Her regret could have been deliciously deepened by her finding some notes or a diary Est left behind where he recorded his feelings for Athena. I would have liked for Athena to be driven to tears over the lost future that she threw away. Daru should have just been a standard muscle side character. Est should have only been briefly and occasionally visited like the banishing party is in the standard banishing story, regardless of his new-found OP-ness. Athena becoming Superman Daru's future bedwarmer is about the worst outcome possible.

I dropped this super early and saw this updated wihle checking your scans. Binged it and... great work on sticking this trash through haikai scans.

It's not the absolute worst thing to read by any means. However, this is one of the most botched executions of a concept that should have been easy to write about without major logic holes. This one has an abnormally high number of those major holes.

In current times, entertainment that isn't amazing or complete burning trash piles are the worst kinds of titles. There is entertainment in irony after all.

This one is just a small bonfire at worst, perhaps a smoldering ember. Not a raging inferno like previously mentioned Gal Cleaning by others. Which nobody should read sincerely, but you can understand why it became a trash heap looking at chapter numbering alone.

First of: Congratz to the people to everyone at Haikai scans for enduring the mental torture of translating this trash. A toast

Second: Author-san, you had an interesting idea on the 'Banished from the party', but sadly you made it into an NTR story with an old man that didn't deserved it. None of the members of Stardust truly learned their lesson about banishing Est, they never really grew as people and Daru is still the same bastard who, for some reason, still never try to clear the misunderstanding in the earlier chapters, and no, Est just suddenly understanding doesn't count. They never apologize to Est nor tried to reconcile with him.
-Athena is still the the reckless leader who want to be the stronger, but is constantly putting herself and her team in danger. There is a difference between bravery and stupidity. As a leader of any party, its your responsibility to make sure your party comes back safely, not only did she put her party in danger of an enemy everyone scene was too powerful even for them, she choose to stay and fight even when they had the time to run. (This could've worked if they ran only for the demon to catch up with them, then it would've made sense to stay and fight). If even the muscle head dragon girl tells you its a bad idea to fight this monster, then its most likely a BAD IDEA! Add to the fact that you didn't try to talk to Est about his banishment other than 'We don't need you anymore!' yeah, I'm sure your childhood friend you want to be friends you you AFTER that comment.
-Daru...where do I even begin with this self insert character. Too many things to say about this guy...

I will give it how it should've ended style alternative ending.

Daru sits Est down for a meeting after Est got injured buffing Athena.

Daru: Est, you have got to stop following Athena and give her everything she wants while she's fighting.

Est: Why? She needs me!

Daru: She doesn't need you behind her all the time, she gets worked up about being the best, she can't think straight. (Don't remember her name, mb) Elf girl thinks you bring the team down following Athena around, and she can't fire magic with you in the way. She thinks you're being a burden.

Est looks shocked at being called a burden, and begins to waver, tears forming but not falling.

Daru: I can't also protect you and Elf girl if you're running into the fray, just buffing her. She over relies on you to be there and she can't grow if she doesn't see that she's making mistakes. She could get you killed and she'll be distraught that she couldn't save you, despite you should've been safely behind me and her.

Afterwards, Daru begins to tell a tale of his old party and how he couldn't protect the one girl that meant the world to him because he was being overconfident and got her killed. He points out that Est was going to be Athena's guilt if he dies due to overdoing it for her.

Est understands and starts to reflect, eventually awakening a strength that all his own, and not pampers Athena so much. Athena, oblivious as to why he awakened again, just congratulates him on being awesome.

Daru and Est never reveal why he awakened, but they are going to be just fine.

Bam, story improved.

...WHY DIDN"T WE GET THIS INSTEAD! This would save the story or at least improved it.

The problem as I see it is that the author wanted to mirror the cliche "expelling team gets through hard times after the expulsion", but his characters didn't match this situation. I think that's likely the worst mistake of this whole story.

Yeah, im agree 100% about this. This story will have a better rating if Daru was really showing his "worse" trait.

With his current trait there is no way people will understand about all the thing that hes doing. He is strong but banished est because he was weak ?, he is wise but asking est to don't talk to Athena about the misunderstanding that make est and Athena relationship goes south ?. It just all contradictory for his current trait.

What's worse is im still seeing people telling that Daru is a great character or something like there is no "romance" involved within the party (even tho there is many romance involved like est feels betrayed at chapter 1 and even the author make a full chapter about Daru having a date at the festival with Athena 🤣). 6th lowest rating in mangadex is well deserved, this story is far from what people was expecting about.

As for people giving low rating... honestly this felt like a manga that the author wrote to deliberately piss people off. I can completely understand people giving it 1 star. It's on a completely different level than just poor writing, it's as though any time there was an opportunity to improve the story the author did the opposite, consistently, every time.

Can say this was never a Manga I was "waiting for the next upload," but honestly surprised it's rated so badly. I know it's medicore at best, but at least had a different idea then the usual.
At most I'd give this a 5/10. This was one of those that I know I read 33 chapters... can't remember any of the story really.

I wouldn't give this one star because I could easily finish this, while I've dropped those instantly OP MC series, where everything just keeps going the MC's way with zero effort and zero brains (from both the MC and the author).

I never vote the rating but I'd say the author failed to set up his background properly and make the "Anti-meta" troupe failed horribly make it get vote bombed. reader checking trash isekai , reading desc, expected trash isekai.

They checked this, expected the "better" expelled troupe and Ch.1 was good , but author keep digging themselves into "WTF" spiral.

The story could went as it is. but early chapter should change a bit because that's when lots of people drop it(me included) because nothing make any sense, I could see author goal but how he paved the road is just.... weird.

if only author show that Daru have reason why he can't tell FMC why Est so angry with them (there's not, They could make it that Est saw it from window and ranaway so Daru also don't know the reason why)

and maybe cut out the "fan service" panel where supposedly middleman and trustworthy oji-san instantly see the sex appeal of FMC in drunk state, on top of her.

and why he failed to explain to Est. tbh, it was easy af. just say he's too angry and never listen to him or something like that (make it easier if Daru never knows Est saw them in lucky pervert moment)

but since author never bothers to show or set it up. it make their "confront" looks stupid af cuz he knows why the fallout happened but never try to explain to any side. then justified by himself that it was all Est's fault for drunk in newfound power.

but the same author show that, Est's first reaction when he got his new power is , instantly ran back to his party in high spirit, to told them that they don't have to worry about him anymore so they can be the same party again. He never hold a grudge to his old party even with that "banished" thing until that lucky pervert moment

he accepted all the blame that "he's too weak" so he rushed into sucide run. author make Est far too good then drop him in the ditch, try to paint him in black while painting banisher side in pure white.

I might re-read it later cuz I dropped after the new girl come at daru naked because "he won, he stronk , he can owns me" BS

Est, you're forgetting that you saw Daru and Athena essentially going to town immediately after they kicked you out - THAT is what made you hate them.

It was a misunderstanding, sure, but Daru capitalized on that to keep you and Athena separated! Just say what happened and Athena will realize the truth, that Daru is a groomer and benefitted from having you killed or banished, and she'll go back to you!

You picked up their slack outside of the dungeons, by managing their inventory, cooking, lodging, money, etc., and even in the dungeons you still managed the items and buffed the entire party to make up for their lack of power and coordination!

Daru and Ravioli (or whatever her name is) are the ones who were perfectly capable of protecting the back lines and training you and Athena to be stronger but decided not to because of their egos! They were the ones holding you back, and Athena hasn't taken a single good decision this entire story!

It was all YOU, Est! You overcame those trials your former team irresponsibly put on you all on your own!

There's only been one other story that ever frustrated me to this extent, and precisely because it also glorified abuse due to the author also not understanding what he was writing - Metroid Other M.

And just like Other M, Tsuihou suru gawa no Hanashi will go down in history as a lesson on how NOT to write a story!
