Mio has a hard time dealing with feelings since her childhood and this sudden information is most likely causing her mental issues.

It's never explained, and the resolution is unsatisfying, so I can only assume this got cut out in the adaptation.

Yes, and that needed to be sandwiched between the forced drama the other two get to experience? Why not put it after, so the story can have meaningful progression? That's what I take issue with.

Just because this is an adaption to a WN/LN doesn't mean it couldn't shuffle things around a bit for a better flow.

I don't know about forced, Mio was pretty traumatized by her experience with Mikako's betrayal and is only now starting to learn to trust in relationships not built on just money. It was pretty obvious that Yuuji hiding his interactions with Mikako would eventually lead to some form of drama, and dropping drama at the height of character development is a pretty common cliche in slice of life series. Unless maybe you're talking about the whole thing with his coworkers, which that's honestly just on brand for the series.
