S2E16 The anime displayed this but skipped the small stuff like this scene.Interesting. I don't recall if the anime mentioned that Ilumgand was actually being brainwashed entirely. I know his hatred was being amplified but it's truly a shame if he was actually innocent this entire time.
I recommend skipping the novel. It's... an info dump. And half of that info dump is Kuzunoha's allies praising and worshipping him. The other half is his enemy being scared of him, so basically praising him in a backwards manner. The novel would go on multiple chapters where nothing gets done, sometimes repeating the same information we already know from a different perspective. It's weird how far the manga is behind the anime, it really goes into every single detail. I didn't check if there is a novel yet, hm.
Translated LN: Looks like end of S2 of anime corresponds to vol 10 of LN. Vol 11 is out. vol 12 out this month. Vol 13 out in Feb.there’s a novel yeah, that and a monthly release schedule makes it feel like its doomed to trail behind its anime counterpart (which is also good, if lacking the same level of detail)
Wait the manga is behind the anime??It's weird how far the manga is behind the anime, it really goes into every single detail. I didn't check if there is a novel yet, hm.
It's better than Reincarnated as Slime LN! ... Okay that's not saying much, since Slime LN degenerates into (boring, stupid) corporate meeting notes much of the time.I recommend skipping the novel. It's... an info dump. And half of that info dump is Kuzunoha's allies praising and worshipping him. The other half is his enemy being scared of him, so basically praising him in a backwards manner. I wouldn't disagree with this. Though again, with Slime, I ended up skimming whole chapters (a huge rarity for me), but I don't do that for Tsukimichi. The manga is the right balance between detail and plot advancement.
That's probably part of the problem. Above, I'm talking about the translated LN. Previously, I tried wading through the unofficial translated WN and gave up pretty quickly. At least if I remember it correctly. It's been awhile since I dropped the translated web novel. I do remember being frustrated with it, though.
Yep. This is in episode 13 of 25 in s2.Wait the manga is behind the anime??
The inevitable downside of a season-based anime planning over a more permanent/large-scale plan; you want to cram as much content as reasonably possible over a season because there’s a distinct possibility that there won’t be another season despite the popularity; Overlord and Isekai Smartphone has the same issue, and Youjo Senki basically shot its own foot twice by expecting the anime to fail by actually making decisions that would fail the anime itself (especially compared to the manga).there’s a novel yeah, that and a monthly release schedule makes it feel like its doomed to trail behind its anime counterpart (which is also good, if lacking the same level of detail)

Its sad that its this way though. As its not always for lack of trying for the anime studios.Animes also generally cut off a lot of secondary details.
I used to say that if you want the world building, check the novel, if you want glorious screenshot, the manga, and the action/music the anime.
Used to, until I saw powerpoint man.
Youjo Senki is very weird it think its the only serie i know of where each version is almost like its own universe that just happen to follow a similar idea. The inevitable downside of a season-based anime planning over a more permanent/large-scale plan; you want to cram as much content as reasonably possible over a season because there’s a distinct possibility that there won’t be another season despite the popularity; Overlord and Isekai Smartphone has the same issue, and Youjo Senki basically shot its own foot twice by expecting the anime to fail by actually making decisions that would fail the anime itself (especially compared to the manga).
Compare with Black Clover, which benefited from the anime since they actually added more content to the existing than the original manga (we’re not counting One Piece and its multitude of non-canonical fillers/sidearcs/movies).

Then you have Iruma, where I wish they would cut more since they have so much to catch up on. Hell, the show added songs to pad out the run time, padding that is very much not needed.

With this chapter, i am seeing differences from the plot of the anime, especially the last scene, where the character wants to reconcile with Kuzonoha.
