To be fair, Makoto’s students would demolish the other students so quickly that there wouldn’t really be a match. Like Jin won his non-fellow Makoto student match in literally a second, that’s not really that exciting either

the thing is, becoming a servant of Makoto gave him humanity, so even with Makoto's own personal problems, he still gave those 3 some human feelings, like Mio respecting other humans that teaches her cooking, Tomoe enjoying her hobbies and Shiki actually enjoying teaching the kids... all those besides their profound respect and love for makoto.
