I'm sorry, dear author, but choosing this method of story development to build suspense is just cowardly. You might think that you're achieving the same as Akira Toriyama did when he delayed the hell out the meeting between Goku and Freezer on Namek, but this is nowhere even close. We're talking a dozen time zones, here. By the time Gohan went to Namek with Bulma, all the characters were well-fleshed out, and we cared for them.

Here, the other heroes are obviously mere foils to the MC, yet they're being treated as if they were much more. Sorry, it doesn't work. We want the MC. You're a good author, but you're not that good. Not yet, anyway. It takes time for people to care for characters. Plus, none of the other heroes or their companions are as interesting as MC and his troops. So stop being overly ambitious and work on your strengths.

In other words, get your fucking shit together, bitch.

Not that the author will ever read this, but I really needed to get that off my chest.
