You guys got his power level all messed up. Currently he's probably 2nd strongest being in that world in terms of raw damage output. When he later learns how to actually use his power and develops techniques and starts fighting seriously, he becomes the strongest being, able to take on Root's most powerful attack head on with energy to spare. His next encounter with Sophia and Blade he absolutely stomps them with very little effort, it's all a test for testing out his power for him. He doesn't even struggle with the fight with Picnic Rose Garden.
