I wish the author drew alternate endings, like twitter could have chosen not to follow the FMC to the old village and the story just ends with him going home (maybe have him watch a news program where hundreds of people suddenly dropped dead for no reason, or all those people died in a giant terrorist attack) and never seeing her again rather than forcing one option
