He seriously went to the beach with these two not as their maids but as his "classmates"? Just the three of them?
Feels like it skipped a chapter where they are planning it
Mmm. Feels like this work is falling into a classic issue where it's trying to double down on its central cast by hitting all the classic fanservice chapters in quick succession. If a "festival" shows up next I'm gonna scream.
Like, I get it. Anything to avoid being cancelled. But I feel like the best choice would be working on growing the size of your main cast so as to increase the number of gimmicks you can mix & match rather than overplaying the very few you have.
Yeah, I don't understand why he'd go to the beach with his classmates and not his maids. It could've been something like Himeka says she can't hangout because she'll be at the beach (to cover for her actually not being able to hang out because she'll be working as Maria), and he "convenietly" goes to the beach trying to run into her. Then Maria has to change back and forth to make it look like she didn't lie without revealing her identity.
I think we're jumping the shark a bit here in particular, but this issue has been present a while. The author hasn't been making much use of the dual identity setup or building out either the MC's home or school life. The past few chapters the gimmick has mostly devolved to the girls interacting with the MC as "classmates" and then squelling about it as maids. We're in chapter 7 and in the story they've only really just started hanging out as classmates. There's no real reason why he should be spending a summer holiday at the beach with two female classmates he just BARELY started being friends with. Also, why did we just skip to them at the beach? I thought they were live-in maids or close to it. Three people who can't learn each other's identities having to someone leave the same location to go on the same outing sounds like an interently interesting setup.
The story doesn't need to be complex, but it feels like the author barely even tried exploring all the ways to make the most of the premise. It seems to be avoiding the actual conflict that'd arise from this situation and that's fine. It can be a more fluffy feel good read. Just like... put in a little work for things to make sense? Like gosh make a couple more characters like the second maid (probably butlers to make the ratio more normal) and have them all collectively want Maria & the MC to end up together so they as a group go to the beach.
