I think she means a real one. That guy couldn't even move and was connected to a bunch of wires. I think she means a more advanced android like the one depicted. That guy was nothing more then a movie projector projecting a human mind.Isn't this a plot hole?
Saya is surprised that transferring a consciousness into a robotic body is possible, when she met that movie freak in chapter 3, who had done exactly that.
It kind of reminds of that trope where the mc only has the power they have because of their parents, it isn't anything innate or learned. It, again, weakens the story. The timeline on this story is... long.
A thousand years before, there was a great world war, and they clearly already had pretty advanced tech already... then they stopped, rethought about their priorities, and built the cities and giant self sustaining mega structures.
But even after hard decisions were made to not fall into another war... a sect of dumbasses still passed around the myths pertaining to the reasons of the war, and it was entrenched and strong enough that with time, those idiots rose to the top of the ruling structure and forgot why they sealed those crystals in the first place.
Anyway... I am a little worried now, because... this feels like it will be aliens, I really hope it ain't aliens.
Every time a manga brings aliens as the reason for every bad thing, it weakens the story... I hope those crystals ARE manmade, that the marebito is just some sort of high-dimensional construct that went rogue, but that everything is just technology working on principles humanity hasn't fully understood, and that is why things went out of control.
But no aliens... mind you, aliens can be fun, but manga has a bad record using them.
The dialogue in this chapter was very good. What Isami said just before that was great too: "Burying the dead... was her mission. It was all she had. If you were thrown into a world that already ended... and given a life that never ends... how would you feel?"YIPPEE!!!
love how far Isami has come. "I'm not saying I forgive that man from Daigiren...but more than that, I want to honour what she's feeling right now"
"if we say she's not human...we're no different from the people who denied us"
AND Isami accomodating Vinny by offering a fist bump instead of a handshake... :')
thanks for the chapter!! god. what a great manga

Yep good summary, and the hybrid theory is interesting.Alright, so 1000 years ago humans ruined everything by fighting over giant high-energy crystals that Daigiren call Marebito? Wars ended, crystals were hidden and Daigiren is responsible for both rebuilding civilization and immediately ruining it again with the Executioners? The Executioners, through consumption or miasma, killed humans and converted their bodies into suspiciously crystalline clusters? These same crystals appearing on the bodies of children born from pregnant women killed by the Executioners rendering them apparently immune to the miasma?
Wild stuff, love it. I wonder if the Marebito are non-carbon based lifeforms and the altered children are some form of hybrid between them and humanity. They may even be what Daigiren wanted out of the whole Executioner plan, a bridge to interacting with the Marebito directly.
(Also idk whether its a typo or not but the crystals arent called Marebito the Daigiren believe the crystals were brouught by the Marebito)Yep good summary, and the hybrid theory is interesting.
Daigiren really comes off as cult-like, just with science instead of faith to me. I mean with the executioners and miasma its clear they are willing to do anything to find the Marebito (whom the worship like a god)
I don’t think they forgot at all — they knew why those decisions were made, but over time people twist ideas and repurpose plans for their own benefit. Its human nature lol.The timeline on this story is... long.
