I do think that's going to be major part of her narrative arc in this story. Io grew up in a family/management dynamic where she wasn't allowed to make decisions for herself. Her relationship with Misa is an active choice contrary to that upbringing, and holding on to that connection is going to require her to not behave like a doormat.Meh. I love toxic yuri, but why does the MC always have to be a boring doormat? It's just annoying.
Even if she isn't yet equipped to handle behaving like a doormat in the moment, either with Hase or Misa, I think we're getting flashes of a future Io who can assert herself. A good comparison is Io having a cowed reaction (mythology pun intended) to Hase telling her she has keys to the apartment and isn't afraid to use them, to her reaction to Hase trying to cut off her relationship with Misa in this chapter. I have faith she'll get there eventually.
