So I’m guessing the author listened to the feedback, abandoned that god awful ami love triangle and is sticking to the original ami/kiri side ship?

GOOD. Love triangle’s absolutely ruin 90% of romcoms unless they’re intentionally made that way from the beginning like maison ikkoku. hopefully i can start getting invested into uzaki again cause it’s been going in a weird direction lately.

Itsuhito is the right man for Ami.

I'd disagree. From the moment he was introduced, he was always established as a ladies man. It's completely out of character for him to settle on ami. Not only that but side ships are there to break the monotany of the main ship. They have to have build up that eventually leads to progress just like the main ship otherwise there's no point in shipping them. Kiri and ami fit that role perfectly unlike itsuhito and ami.

I don't know how you missed what an asshole Sakurai's dad is:

1. He didn't inform his own son that he became a big brother. Sakurai literally didn't know until he came home.
2. He didn't invite his own son to come home every now and then so he can have sexy times with his wife, resulting in said second child.

I'd get pissed if my dad ever does that. He has no frickin excuse since they can easily send a text or something for the first point, and he's incredibly selfish for the second point. I can see why he dislikes his own dad.
Granted, his mom could've texted him, but IIRC his dad told her he was gonna do it, but he didn't, so if I remembered correctly, he's a liar too.

I don't know why but I think Ami/Kiri is also kinda forced for me.. They barely interacted and Kiri just suddenly confess like that.. If the Author want the side ship I think Ami/Itsuhito ship it's more suitable because they pretty much have lot of interaction before... I bet the author just didn't think of this and just suddenly came up with love triangle as a joke.. The title is Uzaki so Kiri also had chance to win but still kinda weird for me because he appeared later in the story than Itsuhito.. nonetheless it's actually pretty smart from the author to cover the past of Uzaki family first than the messy love triangle he created as a joke..
