Putting some guns or military modern weapon in the world of sword and magic is weird actually, since some wall of great mana can stop the bullet even the piercing one.. But you can always compromise that if the world magic research still low and there no hero or another transported or reincarnated being.. My theory is from the realist hero story..

I'm waiting for them to show serious precise magic attacks to compare a gun to. So far all we've seen is a large amount of water or fire that appears right next to the caster. All the high end stuff was done for her by the gnome.
