I think the end marked some great point and make the manga greater than just a entertainment rom-com.
During the story it all about he saw the future where he get the prettiest girl in school so he go for it. but after thing get out of hand. The future now show him if keep chasing her it will just let to a loneliness future. and he can easily get two another route with two other really hot girl if he decide when they still have thing for him.
but now, spend all that year for a no future rote. this time, it not about the reward, not about married the prettiest girl. it not about getting. it is giving. that is love.
This manga is really bad.
The main character is just obsessed with his possible future with Ai which makes him blind for the people around him who are really important and care for him.
In the end, he even wastes away all time just to stop Ai from leaving for Africa as a vet volunteer as it would inevitably lead to her death.
This story would've been better if the main character actually had understood that he was not on the Wagatsuma route by default but rather that some circumstances in the future would lead for them to become intimate enough for marriage.
Instead, the light changes that occurred when he meets Silvia resulting in his potential wife candidate changing mean that in fact, Silvia was not only more sympathetic with the main character but actually loved him without any special events.
Just looking at how naturally she became his wife in the time slips when they became just a little more friendly with each other shows how much more synergy both of them have.
In contrast, Ai is just a spoiled, egoistic child who requires the full sympathy and focus of the main character while also requiring forgiveness for her selfish behaviour like the volunteering in Costa Rica in the end. Wagamama would've been a better name for her tbh.
In the end, like most of those generic harem manga, this leaves a bad aftertaste when finishing the story.
The main characters are selfish, don't really care about emotions, have a vague definition of friendship (except for the DX Brigade, those are true bromance-friendships) and fill all the cliches and tropes you know from the genre.
The sidecast like the friends of the MC, his sister Hikari and the other potential wife candidates are better in nearly every aspect, and it's sad that the focus on them was only utilized to produce more comedy-moments or serve the generic tropes [virgin-kun gets advice on girls from his imouto, a pedo-guy lusting after the elementary school sister of the MC, the DX brigade as a band of perverts, etc.] than providing for the story.
Really not worth the trouble of reading 13 volumes of chapters to wait for some changes that never come.
Instead, it goes downhill like an avalanche.
IMO not worth reading, Hantsu&Trash offering +- the same but at least the characters are not so half-assed [not saying that that specific manga is way better, it's also bad]. I guess all harem main characters are just assholes[they don't think], cuckolds [they think with their lower body] or retards[they think "too much", messing up everything].
This manga was axed, so this explain the rushed as hell end.
anyways, agree with Asriel here, this manga could have been way better.
The Mc only see Ai and nothing else, and it's just sad to see chapters on others girl (who are much better, especially the red-hair girl) because you know it will not go anywhere.
Gotta thanks Asriel for that review before I bury my head in the story with a generic MC. Thought he has some unique traits but he even manage to fuck up more than the usual generic MC.
