Thanks for the TL!

Aside from the bits other people brought up, 'Corin' became 'Colin' on the last page.

I realize that our Dark Elf doesn't want to stick out, but—

Having that power is different from using it—for fame and fortune or whatever and sticking out like a special butterfly. Haruka, this is a different world. A dangerous fantasy world. You don't want to lament the fact that you could have been stronger when that moment comes.

Seriously. If your team ends up being in peril, why would anyone want to think "I wish I had it just as hard as them" instead of "I can help them not die"?

Bruh this is SUCH a typical JP mindset its CRAZYYYYYYYY :shamihuh:
Wanting to be the same as everyone else, not wanting to be different, not wanting to be OP, just PLAIN old boring, just ANOTHER cog in the machine, another Typical NPC, because if your different that's BAD apparently to the JP community, its why you get in trouble for having different colored hair instead of brown/black in JP school, like I've seen moments where they even force you to dye your natural hair color thus breaking the rules of dying your hair JUST so you will forceable fit into the NPC life.....
the Brainwashing is Strong man :shamihuh:

besides that great ch otherwise, really liked seeing new powers, really liked seeing the relationship with others and seeing how MC's growing relationship wise and picking up on the small que's that other people are worried etc compared to before
Rendering it down to just "I don't wanna be different from others cause I wanna be just an NPC cog in the grand work" is such a smooth brain literacy illiterate mentality imo

Imagine waking up in foreign world and in foreign body with overpowered power no one seems to have, especially after getting antagonized by some prophecy and warning that her power isn't that good to reveal if she doesn't want some dangerous things followed. So you want to hope you can blend into the society like normal people and then getting called having NPC mentality, wild.

I guess Superman was having NPC mentality as well.

This.

Also Haruka also clearly cares about their party (or rather Team now) and may be concerned by standing out so much they may worry it'll be like "You're clearly at such a higher level than us, why are you with us nobodies" kind of drama.

I don't like seeing the NPC comparison either, but I'm far less of a fan of Haruka's mental state getting stuck in that frame of mind. It's been a dead horse well beaten in the story. Haruka's narrative is very constantly "woe is me" when it feels, to me, a personal problem she(I hope I'm using that correctly?) can easily resolve. In myriad of ways, even. She even at least attempts some with the talk with her newfound Master, yet this mentality still persists!

It's timid to the point of childishness, from my perspective. If that's a point for Haruka's character, then kudos to the author for making it clear. But there is a saying about how familiarity breeds contempt. I hope it gets into a more interesting direction soon—or at the very least, I hope to witness some proper resolve on her part.

…the previous chapter has her being told she looks just like a deity the Master met in the past. Haruka is unsure about her origins and if she is human like everyone else or if she is no longer human but in the body of a deity instead or maybe a deity with falsified memories. She is trying to find herself and you took that to be brainwashing lol

I get what you're saying because there's a huge mountain of manga that absolutely fall into the trap of no-one ever changing and that gets super frustrating, but I think that's a bit unfair here because Haruka has consistently shown some level of growth and an attempt to at least push at her boundaries. You don't lose a lifetime's habit overnight.

Plus, there was that thread where Haruka was wondering if she even 'deserves' to exist or whether her body was literally taken from someone else, which is kind of a dark thought to try to move past

So basically it's partly confirmed in the novel that Goddess Zest forged her body and only those close to god can hurt her. Kudan says that it's really bothersome but he CAN cut her so don't make him do it in the recent chapter
Hmmm. So it's entirely up to who's trying. Fair enough.

It's not just Japanese but a lot of conservative cultures are like this. My own family has this mindset and we are LATINO. I do understand why they think this way because their society lives by the saying "beat the nail that sticks out," however, I hate this mindset as much as you do. For example, I understand hating it because no one gets left out or "making trouble" to be different (like teenage content creators) but the same time you are going to see that some people are different.

I live by the saying "do whatever you want as long as no one is hurt." Like dying your hair isn't hurting anyone. Being strong in some subjects aren't hurting anyone. Being in the LGBT isn't hurting anyone. It's just a mindset that a lot of people who want to stick to the "traditional ways" have.

Let's not forget that Haruka's soul is a middle aged business man. They are forced to be boxed into society as much as housewives.

secretly BL???????
As a fellow latin american. Yeah. It's messed up how much my culture can be about appearance and being seen in good light. Mental health is still so stigmatized and ignored or demonized, and its all as you say, its a bit on the other extreme but just like peeps dont wanna stand out for being exemplary, peeps dont want to appear as though they need help or certain allowances or accommodations. It's rough, people should help people, people should look towards things that are actually harmful to others and address it instead of making up all these ways in which being different from norm or such is the big problem it is made out to be.

Anyways doot doot, Haruka my beloved. Montana my Beloved. Everyone in this story my beloveds.

The amount of smooth brains in here complaining about what I said is crazy :wooow:

You guys ACT like haruka is NOT a old man that was isekaid into this body :02:

FFS they even SHOWED that this dude has had this NPC mentality since the START even in his old life, instead of helping others he just chose to ignore them getting bullied because like I said the JP society berates those that are different hence why you get bullied hence why its bad to save others getting bullied and why they chose to ignore them, its been a thing MC HAS been trying to OVERCOME but that mentality is still STRONG on mc hence why its practically JP brainwashing :shamihuh: heck its in several other manga's too

But what can I expect from mangadex comments where 90%(I'm being generous) of the people in here have reading comprehension issues and just skims by the chapter AND later on asks why MC didn't do something when the chapter CLEARLY stated why they didn't do something :smug:
pls develop reading comprehension mangadex users
