What did you expect from a Japanese story written by a Japanese author? REAL communication?

Also, I don't think I've seen adoption tackled in a fantasy setting so really cool to see it being handled. This whole situation with Haruka as a dark elf had an unexpected resolution but I feel both frustrated and relieved by how it ended
