So Kanoko realizes she also has some affection for Sumika based on talking to the owner and feeling like she has a place. As soon as she does and really accepts them together Sumika basically says yes I like you but you like someone else so goodbye.

Sumika must have some kind of sixth sense to people resetting plot progression because she always picks up on when Kanoko tries to pull a sitcom reset button on her character development.
I'm still quite annoyed at Kanoko for not learning anything but it seems to me that she's running away from what she learned rather than not taking it onboard at all.

Tbh, I get Kanoko wanting to go back to comfort and slowly getting with Sumika. I legit don't think Sumika should have done that, at least at this rate. Either the author is trying to wrap up this arc in one go and we are going to see Hina endgame soon or there is something up with Sumika. Regardless, I don't like the pacing of this. It's fine to give characters focus and drama and such, but at least GIVE THE CHARACTERS A BREAK WITH DRAMA SO WE HAVE SOME FUN HIME STUFF. Like we haven't seen her so long that legit it feels more like Kanoko's manga. I don't hate Kanoko tho, I relate to her a lot, it's just a lot of emotional baggage without any relaxation.

It was nice to see the author literally go, no Kanoko was indeed a victim, I know most understand that, but having it literally shown is good for those that don't get it. I really do hope this is just a simple pacing issue so we can get to the rest of the stuff faster, like Kanoko forcing Hime to realize she gay or some such.

Stalking might be a crime in the west but it isn’t a crime in Japan, not yet at any rate. Plus as a general rule of thumb, crimes where women are the perpetrator are generally ignored by the authorities.
In what world do you live?
Because where I see it a woman can't even defend herself without being accused of it.
I have read lots news where women kill their abuser in a way to defend themselves and even though the evidence shows it was as a defense they end up locked up. How many women are raped, report it to the police and nothing happens or even worse, the society gets against her saying it was her fault?
Either way, women have a really hard life in all aspects and about Japan rules, it's not a surprise...Japan is a awful place to be a woman, their rules protect men and cast guilt on the woman. Never gonna forget they need a female only car in the metro to try to reduce the sex crimes and even though we know it's not help to secure them

Japan is also why we have manga like this! The sexual fantasization young female female relationships, or frankly all young relationships in general would be utterly taboo in the west but in Japan it seen as common norm that actually stems from the female infantasization of male male couples. Japan is to culture what New Zealand is to wildlife. An evolutionary oddity brought on my centuries of isolation.

So why does Sumika like Koneko again? She’s very selfish, her only good quantity is her face, but otherwise she’s very childish, a stalker, delusional and immature.. how can Sumika even like her.. It doesn’t make sense
Sumika has a mother nature ... bro. She tends to show care and take care of them first then finding out she likes them when a third party say 's 'doesn't that mean you like her' in over all its nene fault

I still remember finding Sumika extremely annoying when she was going back and forth between aggressively rejecting her own feelings and then falling so crazy hard and unhealthily in love with Kanoko. I can't believe how far she's come since.

All that said and done, Kanoko's worship of the status quo seriously needs to be done with because it gives me the same jeepers as Sumika's arc except that it unfolds in slow motion. I quite liked her character early in the story given the drama potential she had, but this is getting rather tiring with no payoff so far.

That aside, I can't be the only one happy that Chief took what Goeidou did to Kanoko as a legitimate assault and treated it as such case. It was nice and reassuring to see her act that way, even though it still felt rather inconsequential in practical terms.

Sumika truly is the best character. Man, I wish her much better than this.

At this point I worry that Kanako and Hime will actually be a thing.

Kanako has to face her feelings. She's gotten comfortable being in a place that postpones the rejection she unconsciously knows is likely inevitable.
I mean, the biggest problem for Kanoko is that she consciously knows without a shadow of a doubt that she would be rejected, because she knows Hime rejects everyone - that's basically the whole reason she doesn't confess. Especially after what happened even with Yano and Hime basically trying to run away from her as a result of the confession... yeah, even if that didn't happen in the end due to the "intervention" it doesn't exactly make it any easier.

Yeah that's what I said. She knows she'll be rejected if she confesses so she's ended up in a stagnant place because that's more favorable than an outright rejection. But it's not something that she thinks of at the forefront of her mind. It's like an implicit understanding and fear that she has, which is why she rationalizes it away with a lot of different justifications. She's in denial but people in denial often don't recognize that until after they're no longer in denial.

I Understand being afraid of getting rejected, but Kanoko takes it to an extreme. So I am glad Sumika did what she did. Having you partner talk about how much they lovr someone else must be painful as fuck.
I hope Sumika and Nene can work things out. Pls manga god make it happen.

A Yano x hime episode is well due by now.
