I don't see where people think it'll go yaoi. For one, the Yuuki guy is probably totally uninterested in Mino, whether as a boy or as a girl. The one who seem interested in Mino is Mao-senpai.

So, if at some point, Mino accepts the boy identity and goes out with a girl, it'll be hetero.
Mino has shown a lot more (sexual) interest in girls than in boys at this point. As far as I understood, the change is irreversible. So either Mino accepts it, or it's reassignment surgery. Ie, the dick is removed.

But is that what Mino really wants? Because to me, it seems the change is triggered by their unconscious.

Anyway, seeing the comedic tone of the first volume, I doubt it'll go the grim way of his previous work. Drama to keep things going, yes. Depression inducing drama, I don't think so.

Ok so two people that were originally women but then turned male? So is this a Yuri disguised as Yaoi? Or not? as one has accepted being a man while the other wants to be a women still. So would it be straight? as the mind is still a girl and a girl turned man. Physically it would be Yaoi but how would it be classified mentally?

My guess is that Nagisa was abused by his father as a girl. Then he developed sex change disorder and became strong enough to overpower his father with late puberty muscles?

just dropping this tumblr post i found here fwiw
Wow, that's just the worst take I've read in a while. Complaining about reading comprehension while ignoring what the author wrote about it being a sex change and not a gender change disorder. While Yuuki does have gender identity issues Mino very clearly does not and still considers herself a girl. A blessing for some but a curse for others. Also that person ignored the obvious cut mark scarring on the lower back and focused on the circular marks on the upper back claiming they're from T shots. From what I know testosterone injections need to be administered into a muscle so the thighs and buttocks are the main areas for that. Since it's a sex change and not a gender change the new body will produce the correct hormones all on its own so there wouldn't be a need for hormone treatment anyways. I rule out self mutilation as well because those areas just don't make sense, they're hard to reach and just wouldn't be offensive to either gender unless something very specific happened to those areas. Also from the author's previous work I believe that they are at least in tune with the psychology of sexual and gender issues and wouldn't use broad strokes to paint this picture.

It is a very complex and nuanced topic that this tumblr got wrong to suit their own narrative.

I think you're both right, for the most part. Like, both you (and the majority of the responses here) and the tumblr post agree that he was AFAB, and regardless of the how, considers himself male now. From what little research I've done, you're right in that it's unlikely to be an injection site, but it could still be a combination of acne/side effects/stretch marks from medication. I'll ask around to see if anyone more knowledgeable recognizes what the image is trying to portray.

Aight, from the people I asked it definitely seems like the lines were meant to be stretch marks and the dots were acne, both common side effects from TRT.

That would make sense if in the context of this story that he underwent gender reassignment treatment but this author is writing it with a biological sex change. In context with what was in the chapter it's inferred that he also went through the sex change disorder. There are pages in previous chapters that since it's biologic the changes will happen naturally without needing hormone therapy.

The way I'm reading it is that Yuuki has serious trauma from something that happened before the sex change and those marks are scars from that. I think it makes more sense than someone with gender dysphoria who went through gender therapy denying someone else's gender identity. If it were otherwise it would change Yuuki from a sympathetic character into an asshole.

I hate that friend who brought the girl senpai to spy on them. He planted some doubts when he didn't know anything. Like mind your own business.
