Wtf is wrong with closed eyes guy ? That's just bullying to bring her down right in her face. Dont talk about people's insecurities like that, what an ass.
I wouldn't be surprised if he felt betrayed that she "hid it" from him, like she owes him anything. I already saw this happening more than once, a guy hits on a trans woman, and when she tells him she's trans he gets mad like she was laying down a trap or something.

Seriously, what is with this gender cop? This is common enough to be a trope at this point. And while this is a much more serious manga, you see it constantly in comedy ones. Be it in crossdressing, gender bending, or trans manga.

From the harem seeker feeling attracted to the "new guy", to the sexpest who DOESN'T feel attracted to the "new girl" to the Harem member who outs their rival to others. Do Mangaka find this funny? Are their strict gender norms THAT strict? It isn't even the "eyes always shut" guys usually. Again, it is usually the one who hits on everyone so they "know" something is off even though the person passes completely.

I don't think it's a bad idea to use outing as conflict, it's just they way it's often weirdly handled that I take issue with.

It really isn't that unrealistic. People have preferences and they like to make sure people match them. The people that hit on everyone have plenty of experiences with other people and can spot when people don't fit the roles they put themselves in. The ability to analyze and perceive changes in the world is something many teenagers develop (before they learn how to shut their mouths...). Again, this is a universe literally anyone can develop the opposite sex at any time for all we know. Look how people acted about catching COVID and that's far less life-changing for 90% of people. It is a trope because it cut directly to the theme of gender bending.

For gender bender manga, comedy or drama, exploring gender roles is a key aspect of conflict. Learning and understanding both the physiological and cultural differences and experiences provides ample character development and other material, especially when the main character has to challenge them directly. The core part of this stuff comes from asking the reader why people act these ways, why we accept certain roles and expectations. Even the gender cops of the world are born from the same societal expectations you donned and weaponized against others for. Not even Rinko and Yuuki are immune to this, he looked like he was ready to strangle Rinko at the end of the last chapter because of an honest faux pas (that he really has no right to butt into even if everything was going the way he thought). Something something we live in a society and we are all victims of such, even over things we should know better like the opposite gender.

There are more subtle ways to do this. Besides, you won't be guilty if the other person hides something from you.

As was said above, this is an expected trope for such manga. But in general, it's not about gender, but about the inappropriateness of such questions in general. Of course, there are situations when you can ask about it in context, but intimate questions in the "cop mode" you mentioned are toxic. I still remember how they asked about my ethnicity as if I had killed someone or founded a financial pyramid.

Okay, I'm confused... I'm supposed to be happy for her to accept that she's a man now or should I feel sad that she had to accept that she's a man now?

Neither atm.

Right now Rinko is really confused on her gender identity. Like, it boils down to what her mother said back then: she is chasing down a sense of normality. She feels like people will think her body is disgusting because she changed sexes all of a sudden and she doesn't want people to know because of that fear.

Honestly from what I've seen she doesn't seem to mind about being a guy that much? I feel like her gender dysphoria would've been a lot worse if she weren't somewhat accepting of the idea. I think most of her own problem is how she views herself in society, especially concerning the boy she likes.

That's why her mother had to ask the brutal questions on whether her request for a sex change was out of her own self-identity, or was it really just chasing down this sense of being normal again, even if she could no longer return to being 100% a woman again, just a trans woman (this is not being transphobic, this is a question of biological semantics, you can't expect all the organs to be fully functional unless their society is THAT advanced).

The question the ending scene provides is whether or not the friend she's been hiding it from is able to accept the fact that her sex has changed. If her friend does accept her, then the next she has to do now is figure out how she truly wants to live as a person. Does she want to fully embrace being a man, or does she want to be a woman again, albeit trans this time?

Maybe she realizes that she is fine being a guy and Yuuki is also fine with her being a guy and they have gay sex. Maybe she realizes that she does want to be a girl anyway but she ends up liking Mao and they have lesbian sex instead. Maybe she ends up being in a straight relationship. Possibilities are endless, so now she just has to address the problem of what she truly wants and not out of wanting to conform to society.

The problem is that I wasn't the one to do the first eight chapters. The first six were MTL and the next two are an actual translation, but not by me.

I'd have to redo the fist six chapters.

I'll do that only if MD goes down or this series is taken down.
Thank you so much for the translation, and even more so for even considering redoing the first 6 chapters in any situation!

I assume it is impossible to only partially upload a series to dynasty (so only your chapters)?

Notice how Miura goes from referring to Rinko as "Rinko-chan" to "Mino-san" the moment he confirms she's male.
