@Chucholain
While it could be possible to kill/assassinate the Crown Prince, it probably wouldn't be the smartest or best idea to eliminate him this way at the current moment for many reasons:
1. He's the ML of the original story, so those ML powers might still follow him here. They have the power of bullshitting through plot and having any conveniences that benefit them occur at any moment, so it would be a little more difficult to go up against him.
2. He's described to be quite strong and, implied, to be cunning to set up the other male leads against each other/creating traps for them. While we don't know the full specifics of his abilities, it would be dangerous to face him without much information on how he operates + the fact he murdered/was involved in indirectly murdering several supporting characters. He's also described to be "batshit insane", so we can only assume he would pull out all of the stops to establish his power and quiet others for his own gains.
3. The princess herself is quite vulnerable; despite having a prestigious title as the princess, her reputation is bad among many, she is physically ill and weak, and doesn't even have the political backing from her own family. If we assume that the Crown Prince has a strong political background with many supporters and generally has a good reputation or a reputation that makes him feared by others to a point where they won't mess with him because of the consequences, unless the princess manages to rebuild her reputation and/or gains power political backing to rival the Crown Prince, he will most likely win the respect of the common people and nobles over someone who is shrouded in horrible tales and has 0 power.
4. There may be more people in line of succession, but again, Crown Prince is some yandere bastard so he'll most likely get rid of them too if he can do so with several of the other supporting cast members who've had major roles in the story.
I think the only way the Princess could ever manage to defeat the Crown Prince is to turn everyone against him, especially with the support characters' help, although this wouldn't guarantee that they won't die fighting him in the process. The other way is if the Princess somehow unlocks strong magic abilities or manages to train herself enough to be able to rival the guy. Other than that, it would be hard for her to do something to him at the moment.
