Honestly, that's the best way to solve it, writing wise. Instead of the five girls romantic pileup on the island, the focus shifted back to Kasumi. And oh boy, this will be a feelings heavy next chapter by the looks of it.

I do find it very interesting how much Kasumi and Yuna have changed compared to their initial selves, becoming both more earnest but also more self conscious. It's very unusual to see two living avatars of ecchi comedy slowly gain depth and change into more rounded out and lifelike characters, with their own anxieties and dynamic personalities.

He's just now finally 100% certain a girl has feelings for him without any escape route. (Madoka came close, a long time back, but he wasn't quite at 100 about it.)
