Yea, I'm really confused about this part too, it was my understanding that her sickness was the constant draining of mana, and as soon as she was out of mana it started draining hp.
And the powder her made should be able to give her mana back, even if it's not enough to get her out of bed, I feel like it should be able to stop her coughing up blood, so why hasn't there been any talk about her getting any yet?

The way all the plot is moving is like a game quests which only moves forward when the MC makes a relevant action to towards the quest.
I mean there is the increasing the "affection" with family members, the merchant quest (this chapter), the foreign princess who is supposed to be coming soon, and his mother's mana deficiency illness, but only one (or 1 1/2) of the topic (quest) ever move forward at any given chapter.

Storytelling wise it makes sense (it is also easier that way), but I kind of wish it isn't so jarring as we move from topic to topic.

Yeah it's just a well-known wasting sickness with no known cure, and the people who have it could keel over practically at any moment. No rush. Just one day.

Speaking as a reader, it sucks for the pacing that this chapter was 98% glazing a future harem member or whatever about how good and cute she is, and then hey remember about the dying mother? Here she is being quite a bit worse. Come back next time!

Terrible cliffhanger that nullifies the positive moments with Christy and also puts into question the MC's dedication to saving his mom.
