Uhhh, ok, so:
- The setting is super surreal. The atmosphere is so.... dark. Very fitting with the theme, I guess.
- MC is such a weirdass kid. Not a bad thing, but sometimes it's... inconsistent?
- The story is, well... patchy? When there were effectively only three characters, the story still has some kind of direction (more like a cozy slice of life with more spice), but now with flurry of new characters... this is getting waaaaaay too philosophical, yet I can't take it seriously.

My guess for now is that this manga supposed to be heavy in drama/psychological, but the author is still biased towards gag manga because Dagashi Kashi.

Oh well I'll see where this goes for now 🤔

@nonameanonymous82435 Where did you hear that kotoyama was female? I can't even confirm what their gender is. Also, I couldn't find any doujins that they have done BL or otherwise since they wiped their pixiv.

Nowhere specifically ; as you may already know, japanese is highly contextual language and is rather unclear on differentiating between genders. Not to mention I'm not that good at it.

That said, while there's no conclusive evidence for her being a woman, there's some circumstantial stuff pointing out in that direction.

(As for the pixiv, nogoodlife account which has lot of digital samplers is still operational ; so is the twitter account.)


I'll let you do your own digging (if you wish), because I believe my thinking to be very biased here - my first reaction when I'd started forming that conclusion was: "yeah, it makes way more sense than a guy".

@nonameanonymous82435 I did digging before I asked you I just hoped you had some conclusive info, also looking at nogoodlifes' sampler for EGOTOPIA and Kotoyama is the author. As ct (ID=63295) is Kotoyama's pixiv account, though their twitter account is mostly just promotion for their manga and drawing fan art.

Still can't find anything about gender though.

We may never know the answer, people in that industry have the option to remain anonymous if they choose to. You'd have to ask some older comiket attendees , or maybe someone who'd been to "her" art exhibition two years ago to be sure (or surprised in my case I guess).

At the very least we could probably agree on that whatever "her" set of chromosomes happens to be irl (what), judging from the comics and the astounding amount of illustrations produced, long legged lean JKs and busty megane OLs seem to be "her" thing.
