The problem is that nobody would care whether it's true or not, because they're acting like their predictions would be of interest to anyone but themselves when it's based on a super obvious and super common trope. They didn't solve a murder mystery two pages into a several hundred page story, they guessed that the demon king was actually the girl dressed in a slutty Halloween costume. That's like saying 1 + 1 = 2 and waiting for applause.
