Not the first time it's swerved into that. This manga tends to meander into various typical isekai genres and plots.

I don't think so. The slave merchant she's talking about is rich and well-connected. If they came at her with armed men, she would be in at least a bit of trouble. Given her poor combat ability outside of what is essentially big game hunting tactics, perhaps even really in danger if they were to somehow corral her pet wolves.

Eliminating the merchant would also make her a criminal, plus he does also actually support the orphanage. I don't think she is ready to take on that responsibility either.

I read that as "you don't need to pay for it" or smt like that. probably still redundant, but there could've been more nuance in the jp text, I wouldn't know.

IIRC She has low CQC combat power. Her airgun takes time to charge up and are better for sniping. She’s more of a crafter.

No it hasn't. The whole trek out here was because she was worried about the Lord not being handled even after making that sword and shield, which would freeze out the orphanage.
