Fun with statistics
@LysandersTreason
Various studies on homosexuality found a 4-8% likelihood for a person to be homosexual, independent of location, generation, upbringing and orientation of the parents, so we can safely calculate with unconditional probabilities. Several said 5%, so let’s go with that.
Assuming that we have four sisters, the likelihood for all of them to be lesbian is 0.05
4 = 0.00000625 or 1 in 160 000. Assuming an even son/daughter distribution (0.5), the likelihood for a family to have four daughters is 0.5
4 = 0.0625 or 1 in 16. If we factor that in, the likelihood for a family to have four lesbian daughters is (0.5*0.05)
4 = 0.000000390625 or 1 in 2.56 million. Your guess of 1 in 1.2 million wasn’t too far off from that.
If the world population of about 7.5 billion only consisted of families with two parents and four children (which of course it doesn’t), there would be 488 families with four lesbian daughters worldwide or 2.5 per country (ignoring country size).
On another note,
Lesbos is an island in Greece.
