Hmm, let me see if I can put everything we know about the disease, and is it possible to conclude it's poison

• It's a noncommunicable disease
• Random people catches it (atleast that's what it seems like)
• Livestock catches it too

Here's one interesting thing, though.



The wife eats dairy products, but the husband hates dairy products.
This is the biggest clue.

And I suppose the reason why it subsides in winter, is cause the plant dies in winter, hence the poison doesn't accumulate.

The funny thing is that bloodletting used to be an ancient method, to remove poison (poison also spreads through tissues, so not so effective)

If I have to guess, the priest will awaken some power to remove the poison (his expertise is closing wounds and removing toxins, kashira)

Last page is confusing. Was hoping it was a misunderstanding as it would make more sense as to why the demon told them to leave instead of going through the effort to poison them or something.

The last page is confusing. "there is so much Misfortune in this world" yeah because you're the one causing it. That's like saying a lot of people have had food poisoning after putting rotting vegetables in a soup and feeding it to people.

Pretty sure it is a misunderstanding. The medical level of that world is low, there is no way a race can use poison plants like that.

Most likely the demon people also got "cursed" and they actually just give a friendly warning.

I feel like the last page makes more sense when I interpret owner as the owner of the world, presumably the guy in the floating castle, and interpret the lost item as Doc.

It seems like this is just a massive massive miscommunication issue where the demon cannot speak plainly. Whether it's stupid writing or a legit in-universe communication issue is yet to be seen.

I get the demon being upset but the doc doesn't know that others are out there suffering or to pass on the information via relevant authorities. It seems she expects too much of him.

Don't think she's evil at all though.

There is a big nuance lost in translation, as Magia and Asclay both use word "sensei", which can both be used to refer to teachers/professors and doctors (well, basically, to anyone with an expertise in their field). So Asclay started calling Takuma respectfully (frankly, "doctor" conveys more respect than "doc", but i guess "doctor" was already used extensively before).
Also, confusingly, you decided to translate Asclay's "Sensei..." in the third panel as "Doctor...", but on the next page you are using "Doc" in place of "sensei", and "doctor" where it was "dokuta" ("doctor" in katakana) - you should've used "Doc..." on page 18 too.
And another thing, in the last panel Asclay says "I...", but on the next page you continue his speech with "We've decided", yet he is talking about himself only.

Yeah, it's a bit confusing. "Its owner" (in both panels) is actually the thing that Takuma dropped from. In Japanese it is called "Kafuku no Otoshinushi", where "Kafuku" stands for "Fortune and Misfortune (Woe)", and "Otoshinushi" - for "Owner of the lost item", so it's literally "Owner of the Lost Fortune and Woe", but, i guess, "Bringer of Fortune and Woe" sounds better. In second panel demon girl says "Otoshinushi no otoshimono", which is literally "lost item of the owner of the lost item" (yeah, Japanese is sometimes weird like that), referring to Takuma.

And, yes, she does call him "a troublesome guy".

That's what I was thinking happened, but on the other hand, all it takes to poison someone is the thought, "Oh, this made us sick; we can use it to make them sick too," and there you go, poisoning. But I do agree that's most likely not the case.
