Ceres did that. It was supposed to be part of his "revenge" or whatever against the dads for treating their wives like crap that after all the dads indicated they'd hand over their wives and move on with their lives to start fresh (and at least one of them extremely creepily talked about buying a young slave girl he could rail with impunity) he would find girls that all looked like their daughters (because they're daughter-cons or whatever) but I think would also have the opposite/different personalities that would end up causing problems or something. It's been a while since those chapters so I can't remember 100% accurately.


I don't know for sure. It's confusing that he set about specific and kinda karmic vengeance against the dads for being shit, and is going to punish the daughters for being shit, but Zect gets to walk away and according to another comment here, actually get redeemed even though he is by far the most culpable in all of this for how badly Ceres got treated and for how shittily he treated his mom.

Zect and the former party are trash, for sure.

But....I just can't get behind Ceres being this chill, to the point of seeming like a pushover, when it came to Zect's shitty behavior and then Lida's dad (his "big bro").
Like...stand up for yourself or for others. He still put his own endorsement on the dad's shitty restaurant after that display of depravity from him toward Lida?

Ceres just feels like an bump-on-a-log old man who lets his wives show emotion on his behalf. Is there something I'm missing regarding the Dragon Thing wherein if he gets mad he explodes and could take out a city block, or something?

Just....be upset for once, I guess. Like yeah - Zect got slapped around by his mom, but then Ceres is just like "see you later brah! Let's get a drink sometime!" and....nothing.

Anyway whatever I guess, it's not like I was expecting anything profound, but his super easy-going attitude to so much of the interpersonal stuff between the other main cast sorta takes me out of the story, at times.

Calling that "scratching the car" kinda sounds like you're equating multiple women to inanimate objects, but I already have weird feelings about the way the author's handling men versus handling women in this series so I won't go further into that or go actually trying to pick a fight over your wording of things.

I personally think he's being too lackadaisical about it all. It's ultimately whatever, I'm just one person reading this for free on the Internet, but I said elsewhere that it's reading like he's practicing the bad kind of Gentle Parenting and leaving all the "discipline" to his wife (or wives I guess, given they're also the ones overseeing the girls' "bridal training" (again, what the fuck why call it that and not "self-sufficiency lessons" or something)).

In the ln, they do for a while cause they got no where else to go, and their mom's are drilling into their heads how to be a proper housewife.

Spoiler: End result: Zect and Ceres 8 wives

Eventually, the 3 end up back together with Zect, after he goes through a redemption arc of his own, and learns how to not be a womanizing pos, but they are his concubines and he becomes king of the land Ceres gets for being the hero. The latter after Ceres ascends to heaven with his 7 mortal wives, to become a new god and live with his 8th and final wife, the goddess of creation.
