Well the demon king's daughter is supposed to be one of the family members since they showed her in the introduction, so this should somehow lead to her becoming part of the family too, in that way it's still family oriented

He seemed honourable enough in the first chapter. Add the less honourable human king, and it's not hard to guess who started the war.

Man, like I thought this basically confirms Duke wasn't the big bad evil guy the human king wanted Lloyd to kill. No evil guy will teach his daughter how to apologize properly, and to a servant's kid at that. This is going to sting more once she finds out about Lloyd being the former hero.

Looking more and more like a lot of humans, especially the rulers are inherently evil in this world. Human experimentation, the massacre of benevolent dragons, the human-demon war ending in the murder of a non-evil demon king, the kidnapping and manipulation of a magic prodigy child by a human cult... nearly all the evil things I can remember happening here have been perpetrated by humans.
