It has been foreshadowed, the heroes have a healing factor due to the absurd amount of mana they have. There was just no way to replicate that in someone else until someone figured it out, like right now.

With the mention of Lloyd's mana hand, I feel like it would feel like slightly less of an asspull to have Cain use hers on Eve (assuming she also has one since she has a device) rather than w/e the Causal Case is about to do.

Not steamed about it anyway because like, obviously Eve isn't gonna die, but it would've also made a nice moment for Cain to pay her back + demonstrate an acceptance of Lloyd's family.

I'm not sure I'd agree Alice being able to use the cube to heal is entirely out of left field. We already knew from the fight with the snake guy that the cube can forcibly take in mana from multiple different sources and make them work together, presumably meaning it needs to convert that mana into natural un-assigned mana. Basically, it does the opposite of what happens when a living being takes in mana.

Presumably then Alice is going to pump her mana, along with Sophia's and Cain's, into the cube and then reverse the process again to transfer it from the cube into Eve. Not something we've explicitly been told it can do before to be sure, but it does seem like something that would be within it's abilities.

It would be nice to see Cain lead the healing here yes, though I suppose long term it gives Alice a further use to the family, given she's still the weakest in combat. I do suspect Cain with her infinite mana pool will end up supplying the lion's share of the mana needed to heal Eve though, probably with Alice and Sophia realising they don't have enough and Cain then stepping in to pour hers in as well.
