I'd like to point out that what's translated as "feet" in this chapter is actually referring to legs. First off "Ashi" (足) can be translated as both foot or leg. The clear hint in the text that it's referring to legs and not feet is that they refer to them as bare, specifically nama ashi (生足), for which the first translation on jisho.org is "bare legs". This also fits with the pictured scenario, as a two of them indeed have (at least partially) bare legs, but not bare feet, as they are clearly (and/or obviously) wearing socks.
With all that explained in excessive detail, pls fix.
