★ Inside the underground prison, a knight delivers some news to one of the prisoners. That prisoner is Frixel, a member of the Flamberge party. The knight tells Frixel that Angesheight, The Saint of the Celestial Sword, has returned to the Sacred Capital together with the members of Silvery Gray.
After hearing that, Frixel immediately begs the knight to let him meet the members of Silvery Gray so he can apologize. This is related to what Flamberge did, giving a false investigation report about Gouzel Dungeon, which caused Wolka to lose his right eye and left leg.
Even though Frixel does not personally know the members of Silvery Gray, he really admires and likes their party because it is made up of talented young adventurers.
★ News about Silvery Gray’s return spreads widely among the adventurers. Many people also talk about Wolka, who lost his right eye and left leg. Even though Silvery Gray is made up of young members, they have already reached A-rank.
They are admired by many people, but they also become the target of jealousy from other adventurers, especially Wolka, who is surrounded by beautiful women. Ramsey, who hears people talking about Wolka’s missing leg, immediately looks angry when he hears his friends discussing it.
★ Shanon, the receptionist at the Adventurer Guild, really likes the Silvery Gray party and always looks happy whenever she gives them quests or meets them. She feels extremely guilty about Wolka’s injuries.
Shanon believes that what happened to Silvery Gray was caused by her own actions, because she was the one who accepted and approved the Gouzel Dungeon investigation report submitted by Flamberge. If she had noticed the cracks inside Flamberge’s party, maybe she could have suspected something was wrong with that dungeon report.
★ Shanon receives the news that Silvery Gray was almost completely destroyed after being forced to fight the Dungeon Boss, Shinigami, inside Gouzel Dungeon. According to Flamberge’s report, the boss in that dungeon had already been defeated and the dungeon was supposed to be safe.
Shanon immediately asks Fuji to let her go to the place where Wolka and Silvery Gray are staying.
★ After arriving in the small town where Silvery Gray is, Shanon and Fuji split up. Fuji goes to the Adventurer Guild in that town to get more detailed information about the accident, while Shanon heads to the church where Wolka is being treated.
Shanon is not allowed to enter by the church sisters because the mental state of all Silvery Gray members is still unstable. Shanon thinks that everyone survived and their lives are not in danger.
It is true that they all survived thanks to Wolka’s sacrifice, but Wolka had to lose his right eye and left leg. Since she cannot meet the Silvery Gray members directly, Shanon can only hear Lizel crying from outside the room.
★ A few days later, Shanon is finally allowed to see Wolka’s condition after the church sisters judge that Silvery Gray’s mental state has become a little more stable.
However, the sister warns Shanon not to make them remember what happened inside the dungeon.
When Shanon sees Silvery Gray’s condition, she is instantly shocked. Wolka is lying unconscious on the bed, while Lizel and Yulitia stare blankly while watching over him.
Without thinking, Shanon says, “Why did this have to happen to Wolka?” Those words immediately shake Lizel’s mind, because that was exactly what Lizel herself should have been asking.
Lizel becomes furious, and her emotions go out of control until her mana starts running wild. Shanon is then asked to leave the church.
★ Shanon becomes close with Silvery Gray again after meeting Wolka, who has returned to the Sacred Capital.
Lizel apologizes because back then, she could not control her emotions. Shanon also apologizes because her words slipped out because she was so worried about Wolka’s condition.
▼ Flamberge Party’s Situation
★ The Flamberge party consists of four members, Lex, Dino, Frixel, and a magician who recently left because she had to get married.
The downfall of Flamberge starts when Lex and Dino bring in a new member named Alfana, whom they met at a restaurant, to act as support, since Lex, Dino, and Frixel are all vanguards.
★ At first, Lex and Dino only seem close to Alfana in a normal party-member kind of way. But over time, they start spending more and more money to take Alfana to expensive restaurants, buy her accessories that are useless in battle, and even move to an expensive inn without telling Frixel.
★ Frixel tries to warn them, but Lex and Dino keep defending Alfana.
Frixel finally loses his temper when they use Flamberge’s party savings, money that had been collected together with their previous member, without his permission.
They even plan to take a dungeon inspection quest without Frixel’s approval. Since he can no longer hold back his anger, Frixel decides to temporarily split from Flamberge and takes a vacation to the capital, where Flamberge’s former member is staying.
★ There, Frixel vents to his old friend while observing how advanced the capital is. The difference between the capital and the Sacred Capital is very clear from the technology there.
If the Sacred Capital is protected by the Four Saints, then the capital is guarded by the Sevens, the strongest people in the country.
One of the Sevens, rank two, Codex of Creation, Elfiette, is the creator of all kinds of advanced technology.
★ Frixel, who has decided to leave Flamberge, returns to the Sacred Capital. When he enters the Adventurer Guild, the atmosphere inside the guild feels tense.
Frixel is immediately asked to meet the Guild Master and give his statement. He is shocked to hear that the dungeon investigation report submitted by Flamberge was false.
Frixel knows nothing about that quest, because for the past month, he had been on vacation in the capital and had not met any Flamberge members at all.
On top of that, the three Flamberge members, Lex, Dino, and Alfana, have disappeared from the Sacred Capital and are currently being searched for.
★ Frixel is completely shaken after learning that Silvery Gray was almost wiped out because of Flamberge’s actions.
He asks Fuji, one of the guild workers assigned to chase the Flamberge members, to take him along so he can help find the others.
Fuji, together with several Holy Knights, pursues them all the way to the country’s border.
★ They manage to find Lex, Dino, and Alfana trying to escape. Lex and Dino are clearly protecting Alfana, and they even say that everything was their fault, while Alfana was not involved at all.
Frixel finds their behavior strange. Just as a fight between Frixel against Lex and Dino is about to begin, Fuji stops them and asks Frixel to leave everything to him.
Fuji then takes out a pendant that gives off a white light. The effect of that light suddenly makes Lex, Dino, and Alfana obey the order to return to the Sacred Capital.
The Holy Knights are amazed and say that the miracle of The Saint of Blessing and Calamities is truly incredible.
★ A closed trial is held, led directly by The Saint of Starry Eyes, to reveal the truth behind the false report submitted by Flamberge.
Unlike usual, this time not only Eurilias is present, but Arcaciel, Lestadia, and Angesheight also attend the trial.
★ At first, Alfana does not say a single word and leaves everything to Lex and Dino. But everything changes when Eurilias opens her eyes and exposes all of Alfana’s lies.
It turns out Alfana used a Charm skill that affected Lex and Dino’s souls, making them obey all her requests.
Not only that, Eurilias also reveals the secret that Alfana has vampire blood.
Alfana, unable to deny anything Eurilias says, ends up saying something that almost makes Angesheight draw her Celestial Sword.
Alfana says she does not care what happened to Silvery Gray, because she believes they are not the only ones who have ever submitted a false dungeon report.
Luckily, Ange is stopped by Lestadia and taken out of the courtroom.
★ Alfana’s punishment is given directly by Arcaciel.
Arcaciel shows Alfana a dream where she meets Shinigami inside the dungeon. The pain in that dream feels terrifyingly real.
Alfana is made to experience Wolka’s injuries directly.
Lex and Dino feel deeply guilty and responsible for Wolka’s wounds. The two of them ask Arcaciel to show them the same dream so they can feel what Silvery Gray went through.
Seeing his two friends return to their old selves, Frixel also begs Arcaciel to send him into the same dream as them.
★ Before they are sent into the dream, Eurilias gives them a message from Wolka.
Wolka does not blame them for what they did. He says that anyone who met Shinigami would have become a victim, and he feels lucky that he was the one who ended up facing Shinigami.
Wolka also says that the injuries he suffered are nothing compared to losing the lives of his party members.
★ The information that Wolka successfully defeated the boss monster Shinigami is kept completely secret so it does not reach the ears of the Sevens, especially number two, Elfiette.
Elfiette might be able to create a prosthetic leg that supports Wolka’s swordsmanship. But if Elfiette becomes genuinely interested in Wolka, there is a chance Wolka will be forced to become a test subject and taken away from the Sacred Capital.
Angesheight will never allow that to happen. She is even ready to draw her Celestial Sword to stop the Sevens if any of them try anything with Wolka.
Drawing the Celestial Sword is a sign that the entire battle force of the Sacred Capital will move.
▼ Back to Wolka POV
★ That day, Wolka and Lizel walk around the capital. Silvery Gray still has not visited the Adventurer Guild at all because many people are still talking about the party’s condition.
When Wolka is left alone because Lizel goes to call a priest to heal the pain in his leg, Ramsey, a veteran adventurer who has just been kicked out of a bar for causing trouble while drunk, approaches him.
★ Ramsey, after seeing Wolka, tells him that he should quit being an adventurer because his body is no longer fit for it. He also seems to look down on Wolka.
Wolka usually does not care when people talk badly about him. But when Ramsey says that the other members of Silvery Gray are just decorations, Wolka becomes seriously angry.
Wolka accepts Ramsey’s challenge to a duel, to prove that even with his disabled body, he can still fight.
★ The next day, news of the duel between Ramsey and Wolka spreads widely among the adventurers.
It gets a lot of attention because Ramsey is going to fight an adventurer whose body is already disabled.
Many people think Ramsey will win, while quite a few others criticize him for daring to challenge someone who is already injured.
★ In truth, even though Ramsey’s behavior makes him look like a bad guy, he is actually a very kind person.
He is doing all of this because he once had a friend who went through something similar to Wolka.
Back then, all of his friend’s party members died while fighting a demon, and only his friend survived, though he lost one of his legs.
Ramsey’s friend wanted revenge for his party members’ deaths, and even with his disabled body, he kept forcing himself to fight monsters.
But his dream of revenge was never fulfilled, because he died fighting a normal monster that should not have been able to hurt him if he had been in perfect condition.
Deep down, Ramsey wants Wolka to stop pushing himself. He respects Wolka for being able to protect his party members, and he feels Wolka has already fought hard enough.
There are still many other jobs Wolka can do without putting himself in danger again.
★ The fight between Ramsey and Wolka leaves all the spectators amazed.
Even when Wolka’s vision is blocked by the sand Ramsey throws at him, Wolka still manages to make Ramsey lose his weapon.
Ramsey does not give up there and activates magic to attack Wolka. Wolka takes a stance to parry the attack.
Wolka’s strike breaks Ramsey’s magic and cuts through the magic circle he created.
Wolka’s swordsmanship, which can cut magic, leaves the entire crowd speechless. They have never seen swordsmanship capable of cutting magic like that before.
★ After the fight, Wolka’s prosthetic leg breaks again, making Lizel, Atri, and Yulitia extremely worried.
Wolka is taken to the church where Anze is, and he is quickly surrounded by Lizel, Atri, Yulitia, and Anze.
Wolka is told to stay and rest at the church, while all of his needs will be taken care of by them until his new prosthetic leg is finished
