we got his master's name it's pretty goodShould have ended with a cheesy one-liner.
"It's time to take out the trash!"
While the result of the fight itself isn't very consequential, MC being able to move forward and use his teacher's sword is a step forward, him being more committed to being himself rather than a raw killing machine. It's character development. Even beyond that, it's the 'strongest hero', so the fight has to be fantastical. While this is definitely still power fantasy, MC has been holding back the whole time for a reason, and one that they keep mentioning. Working through that is basically half the story.Just ones opinion, but this inconsequential fight is dragging for too long! There are no stakes here, one dude just wants to fight him to the death and he's like, "ok i guess". Last two chapters could've brought some meaning to it if his past self reflections lead to anything, like he could learn something about himself... It feels like this is supposed to be the final boss of the manga before they trail off and axe the series or something. Theres no substance to their fight...
Then the author/mangaka failed to impart that in the chosen scenes. We got a lot of flashbacks with inconsequential dialog and combat chatter that felt rather hollow. It might have felt more cohesive when not broken up into 16 page chunks that are uploaded weeks or months apart, but it lacks impact in its current form. While the result of the fight itself isn't very consequential, MC being able to move forward and use his teacher's sword is a step forward, him being more committed to being himself rather than a raw killing machine. Also, big fight scenes are cool.
